The Weeknd and BAPE Are Collaborating And You Should Be Excited

Whenever anyone from Toronto gets to do a collaboration with a brand, it’s always exciting news to hear. When an artist of The Weeknd’s calibre gets to do a collaboration with an iconic and historic streetwear brand like BAPE, not only it brings excitement to the entire city of Toronto, it also brings excitement to the entire streetwear and fashion communities in Canada.

Originally teased during earlier this year at Coachella when The Weeknd performed, this collaborative project has been long awaited. The eight-piece capsule collection is set to release on August 4 and will consist of t-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, sweat shorts and a work jacket. The collection will feature a new iteration of the brand’s iconic camo, a custom XO BAPE camo pattern. A few of the highlight pieces of the collection are the original full-zip shark hoodie with XO branding and the rug.

The recently released lookbook features not only The Weeknd himself, it also stars other XO artists including Nav and 88 Camino wearing the collection. Sticking with the dark and dingy polaroid theme that he has been known for, the nature of the lookbook matches perfectly with The Weeknd’s music.

The collection will be available on The Weeknd’s website on August 4 and you can check out the lookbook below.
