Even if you haven’t quite finalized your New Year’s Eve plans just yet, the city of Toronto has just announced that the TTC will be free all night long.

Similar to other years, the free transit will be sponsored by Corby Spirit and Wine.

All subways, streetcars, and buses will be totally free from 7:00 p.m. on December 31st to 7:00 a.m. on January 1st.

This is all to help counter any drunk/impaired driving that unfortunately tends to happen around this time. The free TTC also helps prevent the roads from being less packed than they need to be.

In addition to the extended service hours, the TTC will also add standby trains on lines 1 and 2 later at night.

The last line 1 trains of the night will be leaving Union Station at 3:30 a.m. north to Finch Station, and 3:34 a.m. north to Vaughan Metropolitan Centre.

The last line 2 trains will leave from Bloor-Yonge Station at 3:37 a.m. heading westbound to Kipling Station and eastbound to Kennedy Station.
