Our friends at Toronto-based lifestyle brand Vitaly, initially known for their unisex jewelry have just released their Fall/Winter 2017 collection dubbed “bootleg” and we’re really digging it. Paying homage to Vitaly’s founder Shane Foran’s roots, the new collection of accessories and clothing is inspired by Shane’s time spent playing in local punk bands in his small hometown of Orillia, ON.
The collection aims to replicate the style and energy that the Vitaly design team developed in their youth as skate/punk small town kids. The result sees a collection that fuses a level of bad-assery with a throwback touch and modern elements.
In addition to their signature scooped, fishtail, layered tees and hoodies, the latest lineup of apparel features the introduction of outerwear, including two denim jackets, four leather jackets, and three styles of beanie. The Retooled Trucker Jacket is a contemporary take on the classic denim jacket, featuring asymmetrical paneling and a unique signature pocket design on both sides. The leather jackets use carefully placed details to straddle the line between a classic biker jacket and contemporary statement piece.
The Bootleg collection also includes Vitaly’s second release of denim. In anticipation of the cooler months ahead, the new jeans feature laser-etched distressing that is patched from behind for year-round wear.
While the clothing and jackets are stand-out, Vitaly has also launched several pendants and bracelets. Made from a combination of stainless steel and leather, each piece takes inspiration from the style and attitude of the punk underground.
The collection will be available on the brand’s official website and in select retailers around the world.
