Gap Inc. will be permanently closing the only Toronto location of its luxury fashion chain, Intermix, in January 2021.

This comes shortly after the news that Gap has plans to shutter more stores across Toronto which includes its Bloor Street flagship.

Intermix is a New York based womenswear chain that was founded in 1993 and offers personal stylists as well as designer brands. Gap purchased the brand almost a decade ago in hopes to expand Intermix even further.

The location of Intermix is in Yorkville, Toronto at 130 Bloor Street West. Unfortunately, Gap Inc. failed to create a large customer base throughout the years. So, with great thought, the location will be permanently closing its doors in the new year.

A spokesperson for Gap Inc. stated in a press release that, “We remain committed to making appropriate and timely decisions on stores that don’t fit our vision for the future of Gap Inc. and are confident these closures will strengthen our company moving forward.”

Although Gap Inc. is closing the only Toronto location of this luxury fashion retailer, if you’re a fan of the shop, don’t be too disappointed! The brand will be moving exclusively online for Canadian shoppers.
