We know you guys love a good retail crime story, so here’s an interesting one out of Toronto.  According to the Toronto Star, a Man has been charged after buying 18 barbecues at a wrong price with fraudulent gift cards from Home Depot stores in the GTA.  Not only were the gift cards fraudulent,  the Star alleges that the man would buy the BBQ’s at a lower price and then flip them online for a huge markup.

Police allege that the man would enter a Home Depot remove the price tag from a $1,599 grill and then swap the tag out with a tag from a $219.99 grill – sneaky, sneaky.

According to the Toronto Star – Jefferey Wilson, 42, has been charged with 18 counts of fraud under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime, over $5,000.
