Popular New York City-based brand Kenneth Cole will be opening up standalone stores in major Canadian cities. According to our friends at Retail-Insider are reporting that Kenneth Cole has just unveiled their first standalone store in Canada on Queen Street West and have plans to open a second location at Vaughan Mills as early as September.
In addition to their plan for store expansions, Kenneth Cole has teamed up with Hudson’s Bay to provide in-store shops for men all across the country.
The new Toronto flagship store is 1,800 square feet and carries ready to wear clothing, footwear and clothing for both men and women. The new store’s interior is supposed to represent a trailer as Kenneth Cole began selling women’s shoes out of the back of a production trailer in 1982. The design reflects this and features raw steel, concrete, brick and glass aiming to represent the trailer where Kenneth Cole started and to the rawness of New York City.
Kenneth Cole, while available at big box retailers somewhat took a step out of the limelight in Canada. While Kenneth Cole may not capture the attention of younger millennial consumers, we expect it’s revival to recapture the attention of shoppers who were around when Kenneth Cole first made its impact in Canada.
