While we don’t normally post about crime, it seems as whenever we have an interesting shoplifting story our readers enjoy hearing about it.
CTV NEWS is reporting that a man who shoplifted from a convenience store in Toronto’s downtown core and broke his arms and legs when he fell 30 feet trying to evade staff from the store.
Police investigators told CTV News that a man stole lottery tickets from a Rabba store near the Rogers Centre. When employees noticed the theft, they gave chase. The man while fleeing opted to jump over a railing of a pedestrian bridge. Unfortunately for him, he misjudged the height of the jump and fell 30 feet. The fall ended up breaking his arms and legs. Reports say that although the fall was serious the man will recover.
Staff recovered the property.
