Starbucks does a variety of things well (hello, pumpkin spice lattes), and they’re making a move to make what’s good even better. Unfortunately for those who shop online with Starbucks, this includes shutting down their online store.
In a recent Q3 Earnings call, the Starbucks team announced that they plan to continue to “invest in amplifying Starbucks as a must-visit destination,” which includes doubling down on digital relations with customers through the Starbucks mobile app and rewards loyalty program. While they are focusing on the later, they are closing the Starbucks online store, effective October 1, 2017.
While the news is sad, it does mean that Starbucks is having a massive sale, and they’ll be hosting promotions and specials until the store’s final day. Right now, shoppers can find deals of up to 50% off travel mugs, stainless steel water bottles, Keurig coffee machines and more.
As for the future, Starbucks will continue to sell branded products at all Starbucks locations and partner locations such as select grocery stores.
