Obsessed with scoring designer items at a discount? Saks OFF 5th is a fan favourite when it comes to deals, and unfortunately, a massive location is closing. The Saks OFF 5th in Markham, situated at 5000 Hwy 7, is shuttering its doors for good.

According to BlogTo, the spot will close on April 16.

Although bargain hunters won’t be able to browse discounted Prada and Valentino at the Markham location, Saks OFF 5th still has a handful of stores open around the city.

These include a location in Sherway Gardens, in Etobicoke, in Vaughan, and in Halton Hills.

Plus, the sister store, Saks Fifth Avenue, is still operating its location in downtown Toronto.

A spokesperson for Saks told BlogTo, “After careful consideration, Saks OFF 5TH has decided to close its Markville location. Through the regular course of business we continually evaluate store performance and other factors, and, from time to time, may determine it necessary to close a store.”

Even though it may be sad news, you do have quite a bit of time to shop the racks for deals before the closing date!

Makeup can get quite pricey, especially if you’re loyal to designer makeup brands. The good news is that there are actually a handful of discount beauty websites to shop at that your wallet will thank you for. Plus, even some beloved stores have an awesome sale section for designer finds! Not only do these shops help you hunt down the best high-end makeup deals, but some of them also help you save on all your favourite drugstore beauty products.

Here are places to purchase designer makeup.

Winners & Marshalls

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by WINNERS (@winners)

Winners and Marshalls are mainly recognized for having incredible deals on designer clothes, handbags, and home decor. And while all that is good, they also have a beauty section with some worthwhile deals. Their selection is limited at times, but they carry designer makeup and skincare products for 60% off the original price, and professional hair tools for under $40.

Rue La La

Like HauteLook, Rue La La’s sales are an ever-changing, moving target. But when you manage to spot a deal on your favourite designer product, it’s always a big one. For example, instead of paying $70 for a Laura Mercier palette, you’d get it for $18. This site also ships worldwide, so no matter where you are, you can take advantage of these amazing discounted prices.

Beauty Encounter

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by BeautyEncounter.com (@shopbeautyencounter)

Beauty Encounter is great for a number of reasons, but their best feature is likely that they carry high-end and drugstore products at a discounted price, all under one virtual roof. So, instead of having to pick up that reliable Cover Girl mascara you’ve been using for years, and that Christian Dior foundation at two different stores, you can order them both from the same place, and both will be on sale.

BuyMeBeauty

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by BuyMeBeauty (@shopbuymebeauty)

BuyMeBeauty has all the beauty cult-favourites, at majorly discounted prices, and if that wasn’t already enough, their shipping is only $5. Sometimes we fill our online shopping carts and then realize that the shipping cost is through the roof, so we ditch our entire order. But Buy Me Beauty makes sure that you can put the better part of your budget towards products instead of delivery.

Glambot

Glambot is particularly interesting because it is the consignment of beauty products. Most people think that buying gently used items is limited to consignment clothing stores, but Glambot has broken all the rules. Here, you can find gently used designer makeup products for a fraction of the original price. You also have the option of selling any products you may have to linger around that you haven’t really used, for cash that you can put towards other items.

Image Beauty

Image Beauty is great for a lot more than just makeup. Here you can find hair care products, hair tools, fragrances, skincare products, bath & body products, and of course, makeup — all for a great deal. Like Beauty Encounter, they carry high-end and drugstore products, and shipping is free on orders over $55.

TheRealReal

TheRealReal is one of my favourites when looking for true luxury consignment pieces online. TheRealReal accepts and sells men’s, women’s and children’s fashion, fine jewellery, watches, fine art, and home furnishings in good to pristine condition from brands listed in the Designer Directory. Some things to note before shopping your little heart out: the RealReal applies a shipping fee of approximately $45 CAD to Canadian orders and duties are paid upon arrival (which can be a lot).

Lux Second Chance

Don’t know if you’re after budget or luxury items? thredUP has a variety of brands for everyone’s style and budget. Prices start at $0.99 and go up into the thousands. I, myself, have bought secondhand pieces from a wide range of brands like Aritzia, Reformation, Zara, Louis Vuitton, and Dolce & Gabbana on thredUP.

What’s really cool about thredUP is its Clean Out Kit, which easily allows you to send in your clothes to sell for cash or store credit. thredUP also gives you the option of choosing to donate your clothing instead of consigning — which means that instead of receiving cash or credit, thredUP will make a donation of $5 per bag that you donate on your behalf to a charity of your choice!

Love That Bag Etc.

Love That Bag Etc. only sells exceptional quality of designer goods to its customers. The company offers handbags, jewelry, dresses, coats, sunglasses, shoes, and more. Items 10 years are older are not available here, with the exception of Chanel and Hermes, so you’re getting all the new and stylish items.

Vestiaire Collective

online consignment stores
Instagram/@_learh

Vestiaire Collective is very similar to the RealReal because it also specializes in luxury consignment. However, Vestiaire is different because sellers have the option of selling items directly from their homes or the option of consigning their items with Vestiaire Collective and having Vestiaire Collective sell the item on their behalf. My favourite thing about Vestiaire is that you can negotiate up to 30% off the stated price of an item directly with the seller so you can score even more of a discount!

Some things to note before shopping is that Vestiaire Collective applies a shipping fee per product according to the origin of the item and your delivery address. On top of that, it charges an authentication fee of 2% of the price of the item up to a maximum of approximately $16 CAD. Orders from private sellers are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. However, orders from professional sellers are returnable within 14 days of receiving your order.

What Goes Around Comes Around

A favourite of the gram’s most popular bloggers is What Goes Around Comes Around. While this luxe designer store has gorgeous locations in the States, if you’re not willing to travel, you can shop all your designer needs from the comfort of home. This luxe consignment store is known for its insane selection of designer brands like Chanel, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, YSL, and Prada, to name just a few.

What’s great about shopping What Goes Around Comes Around online is that all the prices are in Canadian dollars. But buyer beware because the duties and taxes will all be calculated at checkout. Also, if you buy in store, everything is final sale but if you purchase online, they’ll let you make a return. Online for the win!

Rebag

The awesome Rebag store is online and has multiple locations in the USA. All of the designer pieces are white-glove inspected to ensure the highest quality. If you’re looking to sell, you can opt for the Rebag Credit and you’ll earn 20% more. The site sometimes has discount codes to use so be sure to keep an eye out for those!

Le Prix

If there’s one thing that’s hot in the apparel industry right now, it’s secondhand shopping. Gone is the stigma of wearing something used — all of the biggest players are getting involved and want a piece of the resale action.

Fast fashion giants H&M and Urban Outfitters are just two retailers that have gravitated to selling used clothing, and now even the Kardashian-Jenners are hopping on the bandwagon.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B2_3-IApHOZ/

Momager Kris Jenner recently announced the launch of the Kardashian Kloset.

In an Instagram post, the TV mom announced that the family would be launching an online store. Different from their other retail ventures, instead of brand new, made-to-sell items, the Kardashian Kloset will feature pieces straight from Kris, Kim, Khloe, Kylie, and Kourtney’s closets.

The website launched on October 4, 2019 with items from Kris, Kylie, and Kim’s closets. At the time of writing, Khloe and Kourtney’s closets are marked as “Coming Soon,” while Kendall’s is MIA.

kardashian kloset
Instagram/@kimkardashian

As you can imagine, all of the items you’ll find on sale are big designer names.

Think Roberto Cavalli, Balmain, Givenchy, Versace, Tom Ford, Chanel, Alexander Wang, and more, with prices starting at about $300 USD.

Within only three days of launching, the majority of items have already sold out. Kylie’s closet is almost completely gone, while Kim and Kris’ closets each only have a handful of items left. It seems like people are taking advantage of the designer deals and the idea of owning a part of Kardashian-Jenner history.

However, unfortunately for Canadians, the Kardashian Kloset currently only ships within the United States.

With that being said, where there’s a will there’s a way.

Instagram/@kardashiankloset

If you spot a piece that you just need to get your hands on, there are always alternative routes you can explore.

For starters, you can ship it to a relative or friend that lives in the U.S. But if you’re not so lucky to have a friend across the border, there are re-shipping companies you can check out, such as myusaddress.ca. While you’ll have to pay a little extra in shipping and duties, it’s just a small price to pay for die hard Kardashian-Jenner fans.

Check out what’s up for grabs at kardashiankloset.com.
