This weekend is the shopping weekend of the year.
With Black Friday, almost every retailer is hosting a sale, and sometimes it can be hard to know if you’re actually scoring a good deal. Luckily, StyleDemocracy is here for the rescue, and we’ve weeded through the bunch to find you the best of the best deals.
If you’re looking for a larger roundup of deals to shop online and in-stores, you check out our full Black Friday guide, which spans categories like home, fashion, and lifestyle, or you can continue reading below!
Avid adidas fans will go gaga over this sale. Head to any of the brand’s outlet locations to shop 50% off shoes, apparel, bags, hats, and more. To find the outlet nearest you, head on over to adidas’ store locator. The sale runs until Wednesday, November 28, so you’ve got a little extra time to shop this one.
If you’re looking to score deals on furniture, this is the Black Friday sale for you. From November 20-26, shoppers can find deals of up to 40% on sofas, sectionals, lounge chairs, and more online at HauserStores.com or at the retailer’s Waterloo warehouse location. The sale ends on Monday, so act fast!
This sample sale has been a StyleDemocracy fan favourite for years, and for good reason. Millenium is offering sample sale prices on labels like Sanctuary, Desigual, Lucky Brand, Supertrash, and more. On the last day of the sale — Saturday, November 24 — shoppers can expect an extra 50% off on already low prices. Just remember: this sale only accepts debit and cash. Get location details on the event page.
Sometimes you get an itch to redecorate you home, and with Linen Chest’s Black Friday event, you can scratch it! They are taking an extra 30% off all bedding and an extra 20% off everything else — including things that are already on sale. The sale is happening online and in-stores, and they’re also hosting a contest where 12 lucky people can each win a $1,000 gift card. Find out more about the sale on the event page.
Sometimes Black Friday sales aren’t that great, but 40% off (almost) everything is definitely a pretty big steal! Garage and its big sister store, Dynamite, are taking 40% off. Both sales are happening online and in-stores, and they both run all weekend long.
Free People ain’t cheap, people! But luckily, with Black Friday deals, the brand is made slightly more affordable. Head to FP’s website to save 50% on select styles of dresses, sweaters, boots, trousers, peacoats, necklaces, and more.
Another retailer that’s offering 40% off everything is American Eagle. Head in-stores or shop the sale from the comfort of your own home. They are also offering free shipping on all orders! Just note that Aerie undies aren’t included — sorry, ladies!
It seems like Gap always has amazing deals, but this one is absolutely bonkers. The retailer is taking 50% off everything…and there are absolutely no exclusions! Shop the sale in-stores or online, just make sure to use the code “GAPFRIDAY.” Oh, and as an extra treat, they’re giving online shoppers an extra 10% off, too with the code “GAPTREAT.” The sale ends on November 24.
This sale might not seem as impressive as the others, but considering you can rarely ever find UGGs on sale, it’s a steal! Right now, UGG is taking up to 30% off select styles, and 15% perfect off every order with the code “CYBER15.” The sale only runs until November 26, so don’t sleep on it.
Do we have any Eddie Bauer fans out there? Because this sale is killer. Head in-stores or shop online and save 50% on everything! The only things that the offer excludes are sleeping bags, tents, and non-Eddie Bauer brand products, but we can live with that. Use the code “FRIDAY50” if you’re shopping online.

Canada is amazing for a lot of reasons; warm summers, poutine, and Drake to name a few. What we’re also known for? Freezing cold winters! That’s why owning a winter jacket in Canada almost seems like a God-given right. When the weather is negative degrees for half the year, it doesn’t seem fair to pay an arm and a leg for a winter jacket (or freeze). That’s why we’ve compiled a list of 8 places to score a winter jacket for the best value in Toronto. So be warm this winter and able to afford your rent too!

We usually associate pricier clothes with Aritzia, but when it comes to parkas and down jackets they are relatively affordable. Instead of dropping upwards of $800 (what brands like Canada Goose and Mackage are charging), you’re looking at around $200 to $400 for both a stylish and functional coat.

If you frequent StyleDemocracy often, then you know we are huge fans of Winners and Marshalls. The off-price retailer always boasts a variety of name brands for less; that coat you thought was over budget, isn’t. Check out a list of the best Winners and Marshalls stores here and here.

Urban Outfitters has a number of puffers and parkas to choose from that are perfect for mastering the off-duty model look. Prices average at about $200 to $250 and while they may not be the warmest jackets on the market, a lightweight down vest or layering a cozy sweater underneath will do the trick.

Patagonia is all about functionality and durability; athleisure at its best. Their sporty, chic jackets are perfect for those wishing to spend a lot of time doing activities outdoors this winter. Prices range from around $225 to $500.

If you’re willing to put in the time thrifting, Common Sort is a good place to look for an affordable winter jacket. Unlike Value Village, the second-hand store only accepts on-trend items, making it easier for you to sift through the racks and find something you like. You’ll definitely be getting great value here.

Similar to MEC, Eddie Bauer is all about functionality and style. Ranging from around $250 to $450, these jackets will perform well for the outdoor explorer. Having also been a Canadian company since 1920, they have an unspoken guarantee to hold up against the cold.

Gap has always been known for offering style for an affordable price, so naturally their winter jackets are no exception. We love the current pieces they are carrying, as well as the $200 price tag that comes with.

The Bay seems like an obvious place to shop for a winter jacket. The department store has a variety of mid-priced brands like Ralph Lauren, Espirit, Vero Moda, Topshop, Arctic Expedition, MICHAEL Michael Kors, Calvin Klein and more. There’s also a great selection to check out at Norstrom Rack.
