There’s no doubt that Toronto has some of the best shopping as there are tons of places to shop luxury brands in trendy districts like Queen West and Yorkville. There are also tons of malls to visit across the GTA like the Eaton Centre, Square One, and more. However, if you’re a bargain hunter, the aforementioned places are probably not your best bet for a major deal. If you’re looking to spend as little as possible and save big, then head to an outlet mall near Toronto for all the savings.

If you’ve got a car and you’re in the mood for a quick road trip to, head to these outlet malls that are all near Toronto!

Toronto Premium Outlets

Location: 13850 Steeles Avenue West, Halton Hills, Ontario

Even though Toronto Premium Outlets is about an hour outside the downtown core, when you get there and snatch up all the deals, you’ll see why we love it. We know outlets can sometimes be filled with less than desirable stores but not this mall — think Aritzia, Gucci, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH, Levi’s, and Coach to name just a few can’t-miss stores!

Dixie Outlet Mall

Location: 1250 South Service Road, Mississauga, Ontario

You’ve probably passed by Dixie Outlet Mall on the QEW but if you haven’t stopped to check it out, then now is definitely the time. This under-the-radar mall is packed to the brim with crazy deals that you’ll have to see to believe. Don’t miss out on discounted threads from GUESS, Tommy Hilfiger, Aldo, and even the Nike Clearance Store.

Vaughan Mills

Location: 1 Bass Pro Mills Drive, Vaughan, Ontario

A quick jaunt up Highway 400 will land you right at Vaughan Mills, and there you’ll find an amazing selection of outlet stores. With over 200 stores to choose from, the deals just won’t ever stop. Our fave stores to hit up are Roots, the Harry Rosen Outlet, and the Zwilling J.A. Henckels store.

Orfus Road Outlets

Location: 53 Orfus Rd, North York, Ontario

Even though the outlets on Orfus Road aren’t exactly contained in a mall setting, they’re too good to not include in this roundup. This notable North York shopping strip is known for all the deals you can score. Choose from a cheese outlet (yes, you read that right), Stiches, Le Chateau, and of course, Roots.

Tanger Outlets

Location: 3311 Simcoe 89, Cookstown, Ontario

Located just south of Innisfil in Cookstown is Tanger Outlets and it’s there that you’ll find bargain upon bargain. Not only are the deals on point at this outlet mall but its location means you can stop in for a quick shop while you’re en route to the cottage. Hit up stores like Adidas, Old Navy, Banana Republic, and Coach.

Heartland Town Centre

Location: 6075 Mavis Road, Mississauga, Ontario

Head to Mississauga to shop a boatload of bargains at Heartland Town Centre. Save big at stores like La Vie En Rose, Aldo, Naturalizer, Gap, and even dine at Jollibee while you’re there!

The Outlet Collection at Niagara

Location: 300 Taylor Road, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario

If you happen to find yourself in Niagara-on-the-Lake, do yourself a favour and stop off at The Outlet Collection at Niagara for a quick shopping spree. With fabulous stores like UGG Australia, Cole Haan, Rudsak, The North Face, and more, available to shop, you can thank us later!

Factory Outlet Plaza

Location: 1150 Sheppard Avenue West, North York, Ontario

This North York outlet plaza is definitely one to head over to. You can score awesome savings on household items and kitchenware, as well as apparel from top designers and name brands.

Canada One Factory Outlets

Location: 7500 Lundy’s Lane, Niagara Falls, Ontario

Head into Niagara Falls to shop at the Canada One Factory Outlets. This shopping mecca is filled with stores like Suzy Shier, Garage, Dynamite, Coach Men’s Outlet, and GUESS.

We round up some of the sales across Canada in our Weekend Sale Round-Up and our event calendar, but sometimes the sale lingo gets tricky. Below you’ll find a list of sale terms that you’ve probably come across before. We breakdown what they actually mean with the degree of discount, to help narrow down which sale is the best for you!

  • $ = This is not a sale
  • $$ = The sale is okay, but it could be better
  • $$$ = The sale is okay, but if you dig, you’ll find a a really good deal!
  • $$$$ = You’ll have to hunt for what you want, but when you find it, it’ll be dirt cheap! 

Outlet Store: A brick-and-mortar or online destination for off-season sale merchandise and lower priced made-for-outlet lines. It’s not uncommon for outlets to feature more than one designer or label. Rating: $$$ 

Factory Store: A brick-and-mortar or online destination for off-season sale merchandise, lower priced made-for-factory lines and manufacturer damaged/flawed goods. Typically factory stores only carry one designer or label. Rating: $$$

Warehouse Sale: A destination for off-season sale merchandise. Warehouse sales are often made-up of several seasons of merchandise. This merchandise has gone through a typical sale cycle in retail stores and has been consolidated into one location for a limited time. Warehouse sales are on the grander side of sales and prices are typically much lower than retail sale prices. These types of sales can feature one or multiple brands. Clearance Sale: This type of sale often takes place in a regular retail environment. Stores often host clearance sales when they are trying to clear out merchandise to make room for next season’s merchandise. These markdowns are often final. Rating: $$

Consignment Sale: This type of sale features pre-owned merchandise sold by a third party. The profits of the sale are split between the third party and the consignee. Consignment stores stock multiple brands from multiple sellers. Sizes and styles will range. See our list of the best consignment stores in Toronto here. Rating: $$$

Sample Sale: This type of sale features one or multiple brands for a limited time. It is not unusual for them to only feature “sample” sizes, which will range between brands. “Sample” sizes are typically a women’s size small and men’s size medium. Merchandise in these sales are often one-offs that have been used in fashion shows or presentations by the brand. Rating: $$$ if you’re a sample size and $ if you’re not

Trunk Show: An exclusive limited-time event where the brand or retailer showcases their merchandise to a select group of people. Often times, trunk shows are invite only and allow customers to shop a line before it is made available to the public. Merchandise at these events is usually full price. Rating: $

Pop-Up Shop: A brick-and-mortar or online destination that appears for a limited time. Pop-up shops are often created to spread brand awareness or to test a location before setting up a permanent store. Merchandise in pop-up shops are usually full-priced, but can feature sale merchandise as well.
