Since UNIQLO opened its first store in Toronto three years ago, the retailer has become a go-to in the city for everyday basics and wardrobe staples. With its steady popularity, it’s no surprise that the Japanese retailer is opening another store in Toronto.

Earlier this year, UNIQLO expanded its CF Toronto Eaton Centre store with a third level dedicated to its graphic tee shirts, and later this month, Toronto will be getting another unique space.

A Toronto Financial District UNIQLO store is slated to open this October.

According to a press release, the new store will open on October 16, 2019 and will be popped up until October 2020. The store will be open Mondays to Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Different from the brand’s other stores, the Toronto Financial District UNIQLO, which will be located on the concourse of First Canadian Place, won’t feature the brand’s entire collection, but select items from UNIQLO’s LifeWear line. Each month will see a different rotation of goods for men and women.

This will be the first store of its kind in Canada.

And it’s sure to make the busy lives of the folks in the area that much simpler. The Toronto Financial District UNIQLO will feature key pieces from the LifeWear line which, according to the brand’s website, is “designed to make everyone’s life better.”

The collection as a whole features pieces that have HEATTECH and BLOCKTECH technology, as well as apparel and accessories like flannels, ultra-light down jackets, cotton tees, premium jeans, knits, and more.

In addition to shopping the LifeWear line, shoppers will also be able to drop off gently used UNIQLO clothing for donation in-store through the brand’s All-Product Recycling Initiative.

There are lots of exciting things coming to the Financial District. French patisserie Ladurée will also open a location in the area later this year.

There’s nothing like a midday macaron to help you get through your work day, and luckily for downtown Toronto folks, a famed French patisserie is opening its second Toronto location in the Financial District.

Ladurée has plans to open a location in the heart of the financial district November 2019.

According to an interview with Retail-Insider, the upscale French bakery will be opening its fourth Canadian location in The Exchange Tower, right across from the Starbucks in the PATH.

As you might already know, Ladurée opened its first Toronto location at Yorkdale Shopping Centre at the end of 2017. While the new Financial District location will be smaller, sitting at just under 700-square-feet vs. the Yorkdale location’s 1,185-square-foot space, it will be no less delicious.

The new location will fuse a contemporary design with the classic Ladurée look.

It will feature seating for 16 guests and additional seating at a “macaron bar.” Guests can expect 14 different flavours of classic and seasonal macaron flavours throughout the year.

With the new space located in the bustling Financial District, you can expect plenty of to-go food and beverages.

Catering to those working in the area, Ladurée will offer a variety of to-go salads and quiches, as well as coffees and teas for afternoon lunch breaks. Ladurée’s Canadian licensee Olesya Krakhmalyova told Retail-Insider that the new location will also accept corporate orders and offer delivery.

And those with a sweet tooth won’t be disappointed by a selection of madeleines, loaf cakes, ice creams, chocolates, and more. Shoppers will also be able to pop into the Ladurée downtown Toronto location to buy giftables and accessories.

Toronto can expect to see a pastry laboratory sometime in the future.

Back in 2018, Ladurée opened its first dedicated bakery space in Vancouver, offering fresh baked pastries to customers. While no date for a dedicated Toronto bakery space has been set yet, when it does open, it means that fresh croissants and other baked goods in-store will follow suit.

No exact opening date has been announced for the Ladurée downtown Toronto space, but we’ll keep you posted as more details arise.
