Toronto’s neighbourhood of Rosedale is one of the chicest areas in the city. From hip restaurants and upscale fitness studios, to beauty boutiques and designer-filled shops, Rosedale is a destination full of underrated places to spend your time.

Rich in history, beautiful buildings line the street of Yonge. And in one of the most beautiful heritage buildings that grace the stretch is the newly relocated CLEMENTINE’S.

Expertly curated by mother-daughter duo Christina and Kelly McDowell, CLEMENTINE’S is a luxury concept shop that features curated fashion, home, and design.

The shop’s beginnings trace back to Christina, who previously worked with Holt Renfrew as an image consultant and national spokesperson. Five years ago, both Christina and Kelly, who was working in marketing at the time, decided to leave their jobs to embark on a new adventure. And CLEMENTINE’S was born.

Today the boutique, which previously offered luxury resale, focuses on contemporary collections, niche luxury labels, female-driven brands, and design-forward home accessories and apothecary from around the world.

With a keen eye and attention to detail, CLEMENTINE’S offerings are cohesive and edited to perfection.

But what makes CLEMENTINE’S so special is Christina and Kelly’s relationships with their designers and customers.

In their five years of business, the two have grown a loyal following of fans through personalized shopping experiences and sincere interactions.

Many of the pieces that you’ll find in-store are made in limited runs.

Collaborating with revered Canadian designers like UNTTLD and Narces, CLEMENTINE’S is able to offer truly unique pieces.

The store also has its own private label, which focuses on beautiful styles dreamt up by Christina and Kelly themselves.

Take, for instance, the beautiful line of CLEMENTINE’S x MEROTTO jackets, made in Toronto with suede sourced from Germany and dyed in Italy.

While you’ll find luxury designer pieces upwards of $2000 and hand-hammered pot pourri lava rocks for $225, Christina and Kelly also hand select more accessible contemporary labels like IRO, Vince, and Velvet by Graham and Spencer.

The store is ever-changing, with a constant stream of new pieces and styles flowing into the store.

Whether you’re looking for a personalized shopping experience or just strolling the neighbourhood, CLEMENTINE’S is worth a visit.

When it comes to beauty, the city is teeming with incredible brands and boutiques to shop. But one shop that stands out amongst the rest is Gee Beauty, a multigenerational family-owned business that has become a go-to for skincare and beauty enthusiasts across the city.

Located in the neighbourhood of Rosedale, Gee Beauty was founded by Miriam Gee, a professional makeup artist and beauty expert; and her three daughters, Natalie, Celene, and Stephanie.

Since opening in 2005 the store has amassed a loyal following that has allowed the brand to expand from a single beauty outpost to a Miami Beach location, lifestyle boutique 6 by Gee Beauty, an annual Muskoka pop-up, and a thriving online destination. Not to mention, an in-house makeup line that can be found in the bags of makeup professionals and cool girls everywhere.

Just recently, Gee Beauty underwent a stunning makeover.

While popped up in Muskoka, the women of Gee Beauty took the opportunity to show its flagship some love, making the store brighter and easier to browse.

World-class brands like Goop, Tata Harper, Sunday Riley, Joanna Vargas, and more line one wall of the store.

A new, sleek centre table features the latest and greatest Gee Beauty has to offer.

Tucked away in the corner is a mini-studio, where shoppers are invited to selfie in mirror or lay out their favourite products for an Instagram moment.

Also new to the store are interactive iPads for shopping. Visitors can browse products online (first time online shoppers get 10% off their purchase and can pick up their goodies in-store that day) and book appointments on the spot.
