When people go sneaker shopping in Toronto, they tend to hit up the trusted faithfuls that have provided them with excellent service and products. Stores such as Capsule and HAVEN come to mind, but Toronto has seen an increase of sneaker shops over the years. We still have new retailers popping up but the landscape of sneaker shopping is evolving. Not only with the rise of online shopping, we are beginning to see the rise of non-traditional retail stores where rare and limited products are being sold well above their retail price.
Here are some of the best new places to shop for sneakers in Toronto:

When Livestock first opened in Toronto in 2007, sneakerheads in the city knew what they were getting with one of Canada’s premier boutiques from Vancouver. One of Toronto’s current hidden sneaker shopping spots is Livestock’s second location in the city in the Roncesvalles neighbourhood.

Hailing from Montreal, Exclucity recently opened up a new storefront on Yonge street in the heart of downtown Toronto to go alongside its 6 other locations throughout the country. They carry all of your favourite sneaker brands and can become your go-to shop for all of your sneaker needs.

If you’re in the market for new running shoes, look no further than Bond Running located on Spadina in Chinatown. Whether you’re looking for the Nike VaporFly 4% or the latest adidas Ultra Boost, Bond Running should definitely sit on top of your list for all of your running needs. As an added bonus, there is a coffee shop located inside the store to keep you well-caffeinated throughout your shopping process.

Consignment shops are the latest trend in the sneaker world and Essential is one of Toronto’s first large consignment shops with two locations, one in downtown Toronto and the second in North York. Although you may be paying a premium price, they will probably have the pair you missed out on release day or the rare pair that is on your bucket list.

Another one of Toronto’s consignment shops that popped up recently, HotBox can be found at Yonge and Gerrard in the heart of downtown. They have recently renovated their storefront and it can be argued that although their store and inventory is smaller than their competitor, they make up for it with their prices.
