Come on Barbie, let’s go party! The World of Barbie attraction is officially making its debut in the GTA on July 22.

The 30,000 square-meter interactive installation is located at 199 Rathburn Road West in Mississauga (in the same parking lot as Square One).

We got to take a sneak peek of the spot and it’s seriously so awesome. It feels as though you’re walking through a giant Barbie playset—bring on all of the nostalgia.

As soon as you enter, you’re greeted by a giant foundation with the Barbie emblem. You’ll get to take look at the Barbies and Dreamhouses that were created throughout the years that date back to 1959 and 1962.

Hop into the massive Camper Van or even tour Barbie’s lifesized closet. Many of the rooms are also inspired by some of the careers she’s had like a scientist, music producer, astronaut, and more

Plus, once you’re done walking through the attraction, you can make a stop at the Barbie Dreambuilder to purchase and create your own customized Barbie set to take home with you!

This is the first stop on the World of Barbie tour before it goes across North America, so take this opportunity to relive childhood memories and revel in her lifestyle.

Grab your tickets at TheWorldOfBarbie.com to enjoy this experience before it’s gone!

Square One Shopping Centre has always been Mississauga’s go-to for shopping. And over the years, the mall has undergone renovations and upgrades, making it a top choice for new international retailers and major brands.

The mall originally opened its doors in 1973, and in the past year alone, Square One Shopping Centre has undergone a $580-million redevelopment, with new additions like The Food District, Morphe, and The Rec Room, to name a few.

Today the Mississauga mall is the largest shopping centre in Ontario, as well as one of the most profitable shopping centres in all of Canada.

According to a study done in 2018 by the Retail Council of Canada, Square One Shopping Centre is the sixth most popular shopping centre in the country, bringing in $1,086.78 per square-foot and attracting 23 million people a year.

Just like all of the greater Toronto area’s popular malls — we’re looking at you, Yorkdale Shopping Centre and CF Toronto Eaton Centre — Square One Shopping Centre comes with a history documented through retro commercials.

Instagram account @retroontario recently shared an ’80s Square One Shopping Centre commercial that’s a total blast from the past.

Take a peek at the video below. Released in 1987, it’s funny to see how much styles have changed and a great way to see how much the beloved mall has grown.

One of the most common stories we publish is the closing of stores and in 2017 there have been quite a few, which is why we are always pleased to see a brand that is growing — and a Canadian brand to boot.

One of the fastest growing bag and accessories companies is Canadian and they do things a little differently. Vegan company Matt & Nat have announced that they will be opening a brand new store at Square One.

The store is set to open this month and will cater to shoppers that are looking for high-quality functional bags and accessories that have all the benefits of a leather bag while being ethically and socially responsible, as well as animal-friendly.

Matt & Nat offer a wide range of vegan products including: purses, clutches, briefcases, yoga bags, duffel bags, knapsacks and more.

The animal-friendly brand continues to be popular and hopefully will continue to make strides with their new store.
