Ever wanted to visit an Ontario provincial park but didn’t want to pay the fees? For one day only this summer, you can visit any Ontario provincial park completely free for its Healthy Parks Healthy People celebration! Curiosity reports.
Mark your calendars for July 21, 2023, to explore your favourite park (or discover a new one), and sample its facilities and services until 10 PM, with a complimentary pass that you’ll be given once you arrive.
The pass will allow you access to access to the amenities that each respective park has to offer. Hiking trails, beaches, waterfalls, and more!
Keep in mind, any additional facilities not included in a normal day-pass visit at these provincial parks, like camping and rentals, will still cost extra. As well as additional charges at the swimming pools in Bronte Creek and Earl Rowe provincial parks.
Visit a park in the area or take a road trip and take advantage of this one-day-only event!

Catch a Concert
You’re not going to be too happy with yourself if you let the summer slip away without enjoying a lakeside, outdoor concert at the breezy Budweiser Stage. Live Nation has brought some notable artists to grace the stage in the remainder of the season, including Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town on August 23, 311 & The Offspring on August 28, Counting Crows on August 29 (oh, the nostalgia), and Ozzy Osbourne on September 4.

Party Under the Gardiner
If you have yet to check out The Bentway – an impressive public space initiative underneath the forever-controversial Gardiner Expressway – the best time to do so is this coming weekend. To celebrate the completion of Phase One of the project, The Bentway will host ‘The Bentway Block Party’ on Saturday (August 25), an all-day celebration featuring live music, performances, food, and no shortage of photo ops.

With August over halfway done, the Canadian National Exhibition has just begun and will continue with events, rides, and games until September 3rd. In case you missed the discount for opening day, the EX summer experience has an incredible weekday deal that will keep you happy until Labour Day.
Regular tickets are currently $19.99, but admission on weekday evenings is less than half price at just $9 per person. If you head to the CNE after 5 pm Monday to Thursday, you can save extra money to spend on rides and extravagant food.
The event is bigger and better than ever, with an Asian Night Market, a silent disco, flip-flop sculptures, the world’s largest indoor lantern festival “featuring 17 illuminated large-scale art installations on display daily inside the Enercare Centre” and lots more to check out.
You can also expect old favourites like the Aerial Acrobatics & Ice Skating Show and the CNE Bandshell including headliners at the Bandshell like Blood, Sweat & Tears, Dennis DeYoung and the music of STYX, Nancy Wilson of Heart, The Trews, Bedouin Soundclash, Marianas Trench and more.

One of the cities coolest and newest public spaces will be home to an epic block party at the end of the season. The Bentway has become one of Toronto’s most unique public spaces and has been home to an ice rink, art exhibitions, skateboarding and a beer garden.
To cap off the season, the Bentway will be transformed into a massive party space for an end-of-summer block party on August 25th.
According to the event website, there will be live performances in the newly built concert space, an open-air arcade, kids activities and of course food & drink.
The evening line-up of live entertainment includes performances from local musicians Myles Castello, Monowhales, Brave Shores, and headliners, the art-rock duo Darcys.
The Block Party also celebrates the opening of the Strachan Gate, designed by Gensler with Public Work, at the west end of the site. A grand, cascading wooden staircase and open-air Amphitheatre, the Strachan Gate serves as the main entrance to The Bentway, directly from Strachan Avenue, and doubles as an intimate performance space which can accommodate approximately 250 people.

The Changing of the Guard Ceremony, June 24 – 28
