Saks Fifth Avenue Just Reopened Its Toronto Flagship Store

For the past couple of months, retailers have temporarily closed doors to the public, as required by the government. But with the first phase of reopening stores across Ontario in progress, street-facing retailers are slowly beginning to open for business once again.

One notable luxury retailer that recently reopened is Saks Fifth Avenue.

On Friday, May 22, Saks Fifth Avenue started its phased approach to reopening stores by opening its Canadian flagship store. Located at Queen and Yonge in Toronto, the team at Saks is implementing enhanced health and safety protocols to ensure the safest experience for both its shoppers and employees.

“The health and well-being of our associates and customers remains our top priority, and the
driving force behind our strategy for reopening. Saks has the opportunity to set the standard for
offering a safe, easy and personalized shopping experience once stores reopen,” said Marc Metrick,
President of Saks Fifth Avenue. “We will continue to evaluate store openings based on our own
analyses, which take into account the expertise of local government and health officials, economics
and community sentiment. We truly look forward to welcoming customers back to Saks Fifth
Avenue.”

Some of the new protocols include limited hours.

For the time being, the flagship will be open Monday through Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. In addition to reduced hours, the store will be implementing enhanced cleaning with regular sanitizing of high touch areas like fitting rooms and point-of-sale areas. All associates will be required to wear face coverings and undergo health screenings.

While Saks starts to reopen, contactless services — such as online shopping appointments and curbside pickup — will remain in place for those more comfortable with shopping at home.

If you’re interested in getting back into shopping in-store, you can visit Saks Fifth Avenue at 176 Yonge St. in Toronto.
