When it’s cold out, it’s all too easy to just stay in. This year, we’re fighting the urge to hermit in the comfort of our homes and actually go out and enjoy some cold weather activities! Living in Toronto has its perks, as the city is equipped with a ton of fun things to do both in and outside, even in the colder months of the year. From going on a brisk walk on one of the many trails Toronto has to offer to visiting a festive pop-up, there’s no shortage of cold-weather activities to embark in!

Save this list for when you’re bored!

Go On A Brisk Hike

As we transition from fall into winter, it’s a beautiful time to go on a hike through one of the city’s forest trails. The leaves are falling, the ground is hardening, and the bugs are hibernating, which all make hiking a tad more enjoyable if you ask us! Just bundle up, put on some walking boots, and enjoy the fresh air!

Visit The Distillery District

The countdown for The Distillery’s Winter Village is on now! You can obviously visit The Distillery District all year round, but it gets extra special after its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony! Visit the many shops and restaurants, holiday-themed vendors, and pop-ups from November 16th until Christmas!

Enjoy A Festive Cocktail

There are a ton of places in the city to enjoy a fancy drink, and if you’re feeling extra festive, there’s options for that, too! The Christmas-themed cocktail bar, Miracle is just about back for the season, opening November 16th! Located at 875 Bloor Street West this year, Miracle offers a variety of festive cocktails in an environment full of kitschy holiday decor, sure to get you in the spirit.

Stroll Through A Market

From St. Lawrence to Kensington to Stackt, there are plenty of markets to choose from in the city! Whether you want to go on a walk just to get out and explore the city’s offerings, do some shopping, or grab a bite to eat, markets are a great place to kill some time while supporting local!

Go On A Shopping Adventure

When in doubt, there’s always shopping! Whether it be at the Eaton Centre, Yorkdale, or even on a buzzing Toronto street, grab a friend and spend some time shopping around in the city. It’s a great way to get some steps in and take a break from the cold in between. And who knows! Maybe you’ll even find a new fave spot to shop!

Try A New Restaurant

Toronto is the home to a ton of great restaurants! So many that there’s no way you’ve possibly tried them all! Get out of your comfort zone and try a new spot to eat instead of staying in one night. You can even make it a regular thing in order to branch out throughout the colder months.

Visit A Museum Or Art Gallery

There’s always something new to learn and see when visiting a museum or art gallery, and lucky for us, Toronto has no shortage of options. Check out the latest installations and exhibitions at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Royal Ontario Museum, or the Bata Shoe Museum to name a few!

See A Hockey Game

Hockey season is here, and there are a ton of Maple Leafs games to be seen right in Scotiabank Arena! Even if you don’t love hockey, you may be surprised how fun going to a game can be!

Go Skating

When you think of a cold weather activity, skating is probably one of the first things that comes to mind! Very soon outdoor rinks across Toronto will be opening to the public, but until then, there’s always indoor rinks.
