Exciting news for midtown Toronto value shoppers. Costco, the American membership-only warehouse club, will launch this month in Thorncliffe Park, at the former site of Coca-Cola Canada’s former headquarters on Overlea Boulevard. It will be Toronto’s fourth Costco store.
The expected completion date of the store was February 2018, but weather-related construction problems caused delays.
Local residents are concerned about how the big box store will impact local businesses and increase traffic congestion. However, the project’s developers stay they will make changes to benefit local roads by modifying medians and traffic signals. Whether these problems will be resolved remains to be seen, but at least Thorncliffe Park residents will be able to shop for a huge amount of items at bargain basement prices.
The official opening date has been announced as July 24th, 2018 at 8am.
