Hudson's Bay Co. Announces President Alison Coville Is Stepping Down

It seems that with every coming day, there comes another major shift in Canada’s retail world. Well today it’s all about the Hudson’s Bay Company.

HBC announced yesterday evening that President, Alison Coville is stepping down, effective March 1.

This new announcement comes following another major headline that Hudson’s Bay Co. is shuttering all Home Outfitters stores. This has been one hell of a week for HBC and now we’re left wondering why Coville is stepping down. As of yet no reason has been given for her departure.

A release from HBC says that the company will be managed by key executives until a permanent successor for Alison Coville is found, after she leaves her post on Friday. Coville joined the HBC team in 1999 when she started as a divisional merchandise manager but climbed the retail ladder and became president in 2017.

Hudson’s Bay Company is an iconic retailer and has stood the test of time. They’ve been a fixture in the Canadian retail scene since 1670. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what’s up their sleeve with these changes coming down the pipeline.
