Just because temps are supposed to majorly drop, you can’t sit inside all week long waiting for spring. We say bundle up and get yourself outside to discover all the new and exciting restaurant and store openings that have blessed our city. Whether you’re all about bagels, brunch, sustainable shopping, or even custom-made suits, it’s all here and it’s brand new to Toronto.
Here are 7 new and exciting store and restaurant openings to know about this month.
Añejo
You won’t have to travel all the way to Calgary to enjoy the Mexican dishes at Añejo as the restaurant just opened a Toronto location in the Fashion District. This new spot is all about authentic recipes made with local ingredients, OH — and tequila. Head on over for half-priced tequila, mezcal and tacos during #halfyhour which runs from 3-5 p.m. and 10 p.m. until 12 a.m. everyday!
Bare Market
Sick of single-use plastics at the grocery store? Head to bare market on the Danforth for a sustainable shopping experience that will benefit you and the environment. Shop items like body lotion, laundry detergent, and bulk food items all in one place — all you need are reusable containers to pack them in, and you’re good to go. Plus if you forget your container, you can get in one the store’s lending program so you’re never stuck.
Primrose Bagel Company
If you’re bagel obsessed, you’ll need to get your butt over to Primrose Bagel Company that’s near Oakwood and Rogers Road. The joint opened in January and folks have been lining up non-stop to get their hands on these delectable Montreal-style bagels. If bagels aren’t your thing you can also order items like a classic knish, potato latke, or sandwiches. Our advice is to get there early, especially on the weekends, as Primrose tends to sell out pretty quick!
Indochino @ Scarborough Town Centre
Need some new threads? Head to Indochino at Scarborough Town Centre for clothes that are perfectly made-to-measure, affordable, and stylish If you’re new to Indochino, it’s a one-of-a-kind salon-style experience where you can get custom suits, shirt, pants, and coats with hundreds of fabrics options. This new location is the brands 5th GTA showroom and it holds a special place in President & CEO Drew Green’s heart as he was born and raised in Scarborough.
Studio Spin
Get your sweat on at the new Studio Spin location that just opened on Queen near Broadview. The studio is part of Studio KO and Studio Lagree family so you know that the 45-minute classes will be legit. Refresh post-class in the Revitasize smoothie bar and chill in the bright and spacious lounge area.
Mia Brunch Bar
Wish you could enjoy your fave brunch eats during the week and not just on weekends? Head uptown to Mia Brunch Bar that’s located near Yonge and Eglinton for tasty brunch dishes like pancakes, french toast, chicken and waffles, and many more. This newly-opened resto should definitely be on your list the next time a brunch craving hits.
Trattoria Milano at Eataly
If you haven’t been to Eataly yet, seriously — what are you waiting for? Between the marketplace, cafe, brewery, and fresh pasta and pizzas, it’s literally foodie heaven in the Manulife Centre. Did you also know that Eataly houses a number of restaurants as well? Well now you do, plus its newest addition Trattoria Milano is now open. Serving up dishes from the north of Italy like L’Ossobuco (Osso Bucco), Risotto a la Milanesa Zafferano (Milano-Style Saffron Risotto), and Cotoletta alla Milanese (Breaded and Fried Veal), to name a few.
