Luxury streetwear marketplace StockX, launched its first physical authentication centre in Toronto on November 10!

If you’re not familiar with the platform, StockX is an online resale hub for luxury sneakers and streetwear.

Looking for the most-wanted styles from Yeezy, Jordan, Supreme, and more? If so, StockX is a company you’ll want to get to know.

The launch of the company’s first physical authentication centre gives Torontonians increased access to local supply, lower shipping fees, and reduced shipping times. Also, by rolling out All-In Pricing in Canada, the company reduces important fees by matching Canadian buyers with Canadian sellers and eliminates “at the door” charges by including duties in an item’s original cost.

Authentication is at the core of StockX’s success and its customer experience. That’s why nearly 20 professional authenticators were hired to serve Canadian customers by verifying sneakers, streetwear, and collectibles at the time of launch. Plus, there are plans to eventually add other popular categories on the platform like watches, handbags, and electronics.

In a press release, the company’s Canada GM, Jimmy Vannavong explained, “Each and every product bought and sold on StockX is expertly examined by our team of in-house authenticators each of whom is armed with a robust database of proprietary information, gleaned from years of experience in the field, to effectively assess the legitimacy of each product. ”

The store opening marks the 8th global authentication centre for the company. It’s also one of three physical launches this quarter, which will grow the company’s global network of authentication centers by 50% in 2020.

As part of the launch, StockX will also roll out StockX Excursions: Toronto. The first-ever event will take place on November 15 at 3 pm EST and will feature a panel discussion with StockX collaborators including, rapper Teddy Fantum, musician Sean Leon, and La Mar Taylor, creative director for The Weeknd and founder of HXOUSE, a group dedicated to empowering BIPOC individuals.
