8 Swimsuit Trends That Are So Hot This Summer
With summer just around the corner, and swim season sneaking up on us, it’s time to take inventory of our current bathing suit collection, and see if we can spot any gaps in our roster. Read: a swimsuit for the pool, for the beach, for tanning, for pool parties, and for cottage season. Swimsuit trends are always evolving, with the exception of a few staples that will always be in style, but if you’re still wearing the same two-piece you’ve had since that family beach trip 10 years ago, you might want to consider an upgrade. Think twists on classic silhouettes that’ll have you standing out from the crowd.
Below, we’re giving you a breakdown of the swimsuit trends you can expect to be big in summer 2019. Let’s dive right in!
Nothing makes a tan pop like some neon! Neon pink and green have been all over the runways this spring, and it’s spilling over into swimwear. This bright hue is perfect for summer as it’s bold and fearless!
The Low-Back One Piece
If you love to show some skin without putting it all on display, I have the summer trend for you; I’m talking about the ultra-low-back one-piece swimsuit. The dip in the back keeps you feeling classy and covered, while still feeling sensual and edgy. Bonus; a little side-boob action usually comes along with this style, which nobody has ever been mad at.
The Baywatch Babe
Red one-pieces have been blowing up recently, and let’s face it — they’ve always been in style. The classic cut and colour are a beach staple, and you can expect to see lots of ladies rocking this look this summer. If it’s not broken, don’t fit it! It’s probably the most diverse trend right now, and looks great on all skin tones and body types.
The Tie-Front Bikini
Although usually not a good fit for busty girls, the front-tie bikini is a cute and versatile option for anyone with a small-medium bust. You can tie it tighter to give yourself a little push-up action, and it tends to really stay in place well.
The Thong Bikini
Insert peach emoji here, am I right? If you’ve got a backside that you’re proud of, show it off! The thong bikini is a great way to put all eyes on your favourite ASSet, and get minimal tan lines as well.
The High-Rise Bottom
The high-rise bottom is a life saver if you’re not quite feeling beach ready (even though EVERY body is a beach, right?). Hitting just above the hips, it’s a very flattering fit that looks great on all body types. This is one of the most popular trends that’s been seen lately, and looks like it might be here to stay for quite some time.
The Itsy-Bitsy-Teeny-Weeny Bikini
Tan lines? I don’t know her. The tiny bikini trend is a great way to show off all of your curves, and to make that you tan as even as possible. This style is popping up in tons of brands Instagrams, and tends to be very dainty and string-bikini-esque.
No tan lines from strings is one of the biggest benefits to this style, however it’s truly not suited for any vigorous activity (absolutely NO water skiing with this one, trust me). Think beach hangs, tanning sessions, and floating on a giant swan floatie in a pool.
