If one of your favourite parts about summer is all of the tasty treats, then this news is sure to bring a smile to your face. Toronto’s very first food truck festival is called Street Eats Market and it’s happening this weekend.

The event will be held at Yorkdale Shopping Centre from Friday, June 19 to Saturday, June 20.

You can bet that you’ll spot some of your fave food trucks like Eva’s Original Chimney, Johnny Rocco’s Pizza Wagon, Jerk Brothers, Beaver Tails, Tiny Tom Donuts, and many more.

While the concept of a food truck festival sounds familiar, this one will be run a little differently due to social distancing practices and safety guidelines.

All orders are placed online in advance on the Street Eats Market website and the pickups are scheduled in 15-minute intervals to avoid lineups and crowding. You’ll also provide your license plate in advance and when you arrive, you’ll be guided to a pick-up area where your food will be placed on a high-table outside your car.

Thought it couldn’t get any better? Street Eats Market is donating 100% of all proceeds from the event to Baycrest Hospital so it’s all for an amazing cause.

Who doesn’t love mac n cheese? Pasta is already amazing, and then you add the cream, oooey gooey cheese packed with flavour, and butter to mix it all together. Can you honestly think of a meal much better?

I’m thrilled to announce the Mac n’ Cheese Festival is happening Friday, June 8th until Sunday, June 10th. That’s going to be a cheesy weekend! The festival was so popular last year, they had to expand it and make it even bigger than ever! This year it’ll be held at Milton Fairgrounds which is only a 45-minute drive from Toronto. VERY worth it, I’d say.

A post shared by The Mac and Cheese Festival (@themacandcheesefestival) on

DID you know, The Mac n’ Cheese Festival is actually North America’s largest food festival and competition serving up amazing cheesy eats to over 60,000 people! You can also expect a huge Ferris Wheel, bouncy castles, live shows and concerts, a market with local vendors, an outdoor movie theatre, carnival games, a craft beer lounge and lots more!

A post shared by The Mac and Cheese Festival (@themacandcheesefestival) on

Choose through over 50 different variations of mac n’ cheese including specialities from vendors like Junked Food Co., Bobbie Sue’s Mac n’ Cheese, Bacon Nation, The Food Dudes and more!

There’s still time to buy Early Bird tickets to the event which will cost $10 for the entire weekend or $7 for a single day. You can also purchase your tickets at the door of the event which will cost $15. Pretty reasonable considering the amazing creations you’ll discover. The vendor lineup includes: Food Dudes, B Espresso Bar, Lemoncocco, Ostrea, Love Gelato, Holy Cannoli, JZ’s Pizza,  Barocco Coffee Bar, Dal Moro’s Pasta, Di Manno Bakery, Mangia Cake Organics, BRIO and more.

“We are honoured to be a Co-Host of A TAVOLA’s first Italian food festival in Toronto,” says Domenic Primucci, president, Pizza Nova. “As a family-owned business in Toronto for over 55 years, we jumped at the opportunity to be a part of an amazing celebration of Italian cuisine and culture within our city.”

There are some foods that define the Canadian culture, for example, ketchup chips, butter tarts, kraft dinner, maple syrup, peameal bacon, smarties, and the list goes on! Now, I’m getting hungry. The one that really stands out in my mind as being the “most Canadian,” is poutine. If for some reason you don’t know what that is; it’s mozzarella cheese over fries and then hot gravy is poured on top, which makes the cheese ooey and gooey. Yum. Lot’s of different varieties have expanded from the classic, like ‘pulled pork’ poutine:

A post shared by Toronto Poutine Fest (@poutinefestontour) on

Or ‘fried-onion’ poutine:

A post shared by Toronto Poutine Fest (@poutinefestontour) on

To celebrate our love for poutine, Toronto is hosting its first EVER Poutine Festival! The event will be held from May 24th to 27th in Yonge and Dundas Square. There will be NINE food trucks to choose from, serving over 50 different types of poutine! That’s a LOT of poutine. They will be inspired by cultures around the world and will probably be the craziest poutine you’ll ever find. We’ve read you can even find ‘bacon double cheeseburger’ poutine and ‘deep-fried cheese curd’ poutine.

A post shared by Toronto Poutine Fest (@poutinefestontour) on

You obviously don’t want to miss out on this FREE ENTRY event. You will have to pay for the individual poutines but I’m sure it’ll be worth every penny.

Find out more on their event page on Facebook.
