If you’ve ever wished that you could shop local and support your favourite Canadian brands, all under one roof, this is your chance! The bi-annual pop-up event, INLAND, is back for its 10th year, this time, at Toronto’s Eaton Centre!

Since launching in 2014, INLAND has showcased over 500 Canadian brands and makers from across the country, encouraging shoppers to explore and shop local talent.

“It’s a great time for fashion and retail because we are all in a “rethink” frame of mind, taking a closer look at what we buy and why we buy it. This is why I’m thrilled to be marking our 10th anniversary at CF Toronto Eaton Centre, bringing local design to one of Canada’s busiest shopping destinations. The intent is to disrupt what shoppers typically experience at the mall and hopefully encourage new thinking about both style and consumption,” says Sarah Power, founder and director, INLAND.

Where: CF Toronto Eaton Centre, 3rd Floor, Beside Sephora.
When: Thursday, May 9 from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Friday, May 10 from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Saturday, May 11 from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Sunday, May 12 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Two sustainable, size-inclusive brands with a cult following are popping up in Toronto this weekend!
Experience and try on the popular West Coast brand’s comfortable and ethically-made garments in person and shop on-site!
“Clothing is meant to fit bodies. Bodies aren’t meant to fit clothes. For years western beauty standards have
taught us to shrink in order to fit into clothing; the majority of sizes range from XS-L, models are all size 0,
and size charts are hard to come by. While most clothing brands aim to make aspirational clothing, Free
Label sets out to make well-fitting, comfortable clothing for REAL people. Our hope is that you can go to
our website or social media platforms and see someone that looks like you, wearing our clothes, and being
celebrated. No change necessary.” – Jess Sternberg, Founder, Free Label
“Online shopping is hard. Every body type is different and even harder for someone who occupies a larger
body when most brands only carry up to XL or are simply grading their sizes higher without considering the
specific needs of plus size bodies.” – Karen Lee, Co-Founder, LEZE the Label
The pop-up’s details:
Address: 2104 Dundas St. West
Dates: Friday, June 9th: 11 AM – 7 PM
Saturday, June 10th: 10 AM – 6 PM
Sunday, June 11th: 11 AM – 4 PM

The day has finally come. The insanely popular clothing brand, Shein, is making its way into a physical pop-up location.
Known for its incredibly inexpensive apparel, footwear, home decor, and pretty much anything else you need, the brand has caused quite a controversy over the years. The low price point is a major selling factor for Shein, but it most definitely is a massive player in fast fashion.
Shein continues to have such a high amount of trendy inventory on hand that’s not being made sustainably whatsoever. Another viral dispute with the brand is the poor working conditions that the employees are put through.
Many of the time, the clothing is not true to size and can also look quite different in person than online. Of course, having a physical store will eliminate that issue when shopping in person.
Tickets for the Shein pop-up event are already sold out, but there will be another line for walk-ins. You can expect that line to be quite steady for the three days.

If you’re planning a wedding, you know how quickly the costs can add up.
From the venue and food, to the DJ, decorations, and more, sticking to a budget is a lot harder than it looks. Luckily, there’s one area where you can save money without having to sacrifice your deepest desires: your wedding dress!
Throughout the year, bridal shops host pop-up and sample sales, but the spring is by far the busiest time of year for these types of events to happen. Between February and March, there are plenty of sales happening in Toronto and surrounding areas, and the prices and designers make the sales well worth the drive.

From now until Saturday, March 30, shop over 1500 brand new designer wedding gowns. Prices are slashed 50% off the retail price with most dresses under $1000, and there are plenty of sizes available. The GTA pop-up outlet shop wedding dress sale by Bridals Direct is also a one-stop shop — they have lots of accessories and bridesmaid and mother-of-the-bride dresses, too. No appointment is necessary, but outdoor footwear must be left at the door, so remember to bring slippers or socks. Shop the Bridals Direct pop-up at 2050 Dundas St. East in Mississauga Thursdays to Fridays (11 a.m. to 8 p.m.), Saturdays (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.), and Sundays (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

While not exactly the GTA, the deals at The Modern Bride in Guelph (15 Wyndham St. North) are too good to pass up. Featuring designers like Alexandra Grecco, Pronovias, Blush By Hayley Paige, and more, prices for most gowns will range between $500 and $1500. Sample sizes range from 6 to 14, and most of the sizes available are 8 to 12. While no appointment is necessary, you do need to RSVP at info@tmodernbride.com with your name and wedding date.
