When it comes to Rihanna, things might be quiet on the music front — though, a new reggae-inspired album is rumoured to be in the works — but that doesn’t mean that she hasn’t been busy behind-the-scenes expanding her empire.
Earlier this month, Rihanna teased the launch on her personal Instagram page, saying, “I’ve been working on @fentyskin for over 2 years, perfecting formulas and creating packaging that is kind to our planet!! Formulas that work, and work well with makeup!!! Everything starts with the foundation that is your skin and we all know how obsessed I am with beautiful, healthy skin- so whether you want to wear makeup, or no makeup at all, there’s always glowing skin underneath.”
The 32-year-old businesswoman also released a teaser with longtime friend ASAP Rocky, saying, “That’s right baby…@fentyskin is for my fellas too! No matter who you are, you deserve to have great skin!”
Those interested in checking out Fenty Skin when it launches can head to the Fenty Beauty website and sign up for early access. Signing up means that you’ll be able to shop the collection on July 29, two full days ahead of the public launch!

Rihanna set the standard for makeup brands everywhere when she launched her range of Fenty foundations and forcing everyone to get on her level. But her effect doesn’t stop there. Her fashion line Savage x Fenty celebrates diversity and inclusivity, something that was super apparent in her 2019 New York Fashion Week show, which featured models of all shapes, sizes, and colours.

Rihanna has gone from superstar songstress to fashion icon, to owning her own highly successful makeup line, to now, being a gifted fashion designer—it has us wondering if there’s anything she can’t do? The girl is a force to be reckoned with, and so is her evolving empire.
LVMH has decided to collaborate with Rihanna on her very first official luxury fashion brand, and naturally, we have a ton of questions. But the good news is, we also have answers.

A project of these kinds of proportions is expensive, no doubt, and Rihanna seems to be extremely confident in the future success of her endeavours. Especially since she invested $45,648,113 CAD of her own money into it. On top of that, LVMH also injected $30 million euros into it, so with that much money backing the project, we can surely expect great things.

Since Rihanna has invested massive amounts of her own money into this project, she is also a main shareholder of 49.99% through her company Denim UK Holdings.

As for the people that have been hired on to contribute to the final unveiling of this project—it isn’t their first rodeo, by a long shot. Rihanna is dedicated to setting new records, and although her name could probably carry the entire thing, she has also only drafted the greatest talents in the industry to cement its success. This includes hiring directly from Louis Vuitton and Celine. She has also named Jean-Baptiste Voisin, LVMH’s chief strategy officer as her brand’s president.

It is fair to assume that a luxury fashion brand would be solely directed at high-end women’s clothing. But she is thinking way bigger than that. She will be including: women’s apparel, of course, men’s apparel, kids’ clothing, athletic wear, leather, eyewear, lifestyle goods, office supplies, home decor, garden decor, and more. She is aiming to cover as many bases as possible, to reach the largest demographic.

There is a very good reason why LVMH has chosen to partnership with RiRi on this project and it is because they have already worked with her before. The trust has already been established and they know that working with Rihanna is obviously going to be a winning lottery ticket.
We’ve been led to believe that Fenty is owned by Rihanna—which is only partially true. But the Kendo division of LVMH actually owns Fenty as well, and that is where their friendship truly blossomed.

First and foremost, Rihanna is a well rounded musician and performer, and she has not forgotten where she started from. She’s paying tribute to her music-roots by naming her upcoming project “Project Loud France” — inspired by her 2010 album “Loud.”

LVMH hasn’t teamed up with someone to this degree on a project since they collaborated with Christian Lacroix way back in 1987. So, although this is not the first time LVMH has partnered up and launched a brand through someone else, it’s the first time they’ve done so in a while.

Kylie Jenner’s makeup line has shocked the industry with speculations that the line will be worth $1billion in the very near future. With that in mind, it’s no surprise to see other millennial stars aim to capture some of that coveted market. And while many have tried, we believe that Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty is the next line to make major bucks.
Rihanna is officially launching her highly anticipated makeup line in stores across Canada next week. Earlier this year, the singer signed a deal with LVMH, the same company that produces Marc Jacobs Beauty, Dior cosmetics and much more. The Fenty Beauty line will be sold at Sephora in Canada and will surely be popular, so if you are interested in scoring some, don’t sleep on it.
The Fenty Beauty line will launch in Sephora stores across the country on September 8, 2017.
Michael Jordan had a big impact on the footwear industry. You can say that he revolutionized it and completely changed the landscape of how sneakers were marketed and sold. He transcended the world of sports and became an international fashion icon with the help of his Air Jordan line, as well as his trademark Jumpman logo.
The Air Jordan line saw immense success as a performance product, but it also began tapping into the lifestyle market as people were wearing their Jordan shoes not only on the court, but on the streets as well. This had every other footwear company scrambling to find their own MJ throughout the 90s and early-2000s.

We have seen a rising emphasis on the importance of artists and lifestyle influencers in sneakers, as athletes began taking a backseat in the footwear industry. Run-DMC and their contribution to this movement cannot be understated, as they hold a special place in history with what they did with adidas and the Superstars.
Some may say that the Artist’s Series collection by Nike featuring the likes of Futura, Stash, Pharrell, and ESPO was vital to this shift in the industry. Some may say that this shift occurred when Jay-Z and 50 Cent got their own signature lines at Reebok, the S. Carter and the G-Unit. There will always be those who say that nothing mattered until Kanye released his first signature silhouette with Nike.

Regardless of what catapulted this change in the influence within the footwear industry from athletes to artists, all that matters is that the change did happen. When Jay-Z, 50 Cent, and Kanye received their signature line from Reebok and Nike, it was a very big deal to those who remember those years. Jay-Z and Kanye were the first non-athletes to get their own signature shoes at their respective brands.
Throughout this decade, we have seen many artists collaborating with different brands to help usher in this new age of sneaker culture that we are now in the midst of. We saw adidas working with artists such as Big Sean and 2 Chainz on classic silhouettes during their pre-Boost era, followed by their introduction of Kanye and Pharrell’s signature series during their Boost era.

Jordan Brand is very well represented with Drake and his ever-popular OVO collection. Reebok has made a concentrated effort in gaining back traction within the lifestyle market with Kendrick Lamar and Future on their roster. adidas not only has Kanye and Pharrell on their roster, they also work with Pusha T on their EQT line and Desiigner on their XbyO line.
PUMA is one of the brands that is truly embracing this shift towards influential artists and it is safe to say that their hard work paid off. The Fenty by Rihanna collection is one of the best-selling collaborations on the market, and they also made a big splash with the signing of The Weeknd, who will be receiving his own signature XO collection. In addition to The Weeknd and Rihanna, they also have some of the most influential style icons, Kylie Jenner and Big Sean, as faces for some of their other campaigns.

It has been truly amazing to see the shift of influence in the sneaker industry and to witness the transformation of the culture from what it was many years ago. Call them musicians or singers, but at the end of their day, they are artists and these footwear designs can be seen as an extension of their artistic craft.

Something that we’ve known for a while, PUMA is awesome and it seems that the rest of the world is finally catching up. Puma is killing it! The sportswear company based out of Germany reported amazing results this fiscal year with a sales increase of 15 percent. What makes the numbers even more interesting is the fact that Puma’s footwear division grew almost 25 percent in comparison to the same quarter last year. One of the biggest growth’s Puma saw was in the American market growing to approximately $377 million USD. For the first time ever the brand experience more than a billion dollars in sales globally in a quarter.
This growth shows that PUMA is on the right path and could spell trouble for mid-level competitors like Under Armour.
While new designs and a refocused approach to lifestyle sportswear have made Puma a success, it can easily be argued that a huge portion of Puma’s recent surge in popularity is due to their timely celebrity endorsements from the likes of Rihanna, Kylie Jenner and the Weeknd.
