Calling all doughnut fans! Scarborough is getting a new delicious addition this summer. The American doughnut company Krispy Kreme will be opening up a new GTA location very soon.
Earlier this year, the company teased the opening with a picture on social media that featured the brand’s sign and the words “SUMMER 2020”. And more recently, Krispy Kreme shared a sneak peek of the new location on Twitter and another on Instagram with the caption, “Happy Wednesday #Scarborough we are almost there”.

Doughnut enthusiasts can expect the new location to open at 4411 Kingston Road., just east of Lawrence Ave. and Morningside Ave.

About two weeks ago we were informed that Jollibee was set to open yesterday March 25, 2018. With the weekend over and no sign of an open Jolibee yet, hungry Torontonians and Jollibee fans were starting to get a little concerned.
We can now finally tell you, and hopefully, it’s not an April Fool’s joke Jollibee in Scarborough is slated to open April 1st, 2018.
While the location in Scarborough will be a first for Toronto, you can expect more to pop up in the near future.
āWe canāt wait to open our doors to the amazing people of Toronto,ā said Jose MiƱana, Jollibee Foods Corporationās (JFC) Group President for North America. āFor us, nothing brings greater joy than to bring people together over great tasting food and happy moments. We are excited to bring to Scarborough the popular dishes that many now enjoy in different parts of the world.ā
āAt the same time, we look forward to bringing a familiar ātaste of homeā to our countrymen in the Greater Toronto Area.Ā Many may not know that this area is home to the largest Filipino community in Canada!Ā And we wonāt stop here ā another location in Mississauga is in the pipeline for the year,ā MiƱana added.
The Canadian market plays a key role in the companyās North America expansion plans. Jollibee Scarborough is the companyās third store in Canada and the 40th store in North America ā proof of the brandās commitment to this region as a key growth market.
āAs the most populous metropolitan area in Canada, we knew that we had to be in Toronto,ā explains Maribeth dela Cruz,Ā ViceĀ President and General Manager for JFC North America.Ā āScarborough may be the 40thĀ store we are opening in North America, but we can assure you that we look forward to each store opening like it is our first!ā
As previously reported, a location slated to open inside theĀ Seafood City SupermarketĀ at theĀ Heartland Town CentreĀ in Mississauga is also in the works.
Address:Ā 15 William Kitchen Road, Scarborough
Scarborough, one of the most diverse and multicultural areas in the GTA, has its own brand ambassador in Life and Wisdom, a Toronto clothing collective known for its caps, long sleeve t-shirts, and hoodies. Its unique designs feature popular hipster and hip-hop motifs and lyrics, with references to Hennessey and street culture.
While theyāve been around for a decade, Law and Wisdom gained attention in November, with its Scarboroā long sleeve shirt, a design take on the Marlboro cigarette iconography. Another big hit is its t-shirt with āHood Basicsā printed on it, a play on the Canadian grocery store Food Basics.
The collective, known as the L.A.W. Gang, originated 10 years ago in Scarborough during the growing Toronto streetwear scene, when a group of friends got together to create their own designs and images on clothing. Inspired by their urban environment and upbringing, the group reflects their society through their clothing.
Their products, ranging from L.A.W. baseball caps, flannels and hoodies, are available at their online shop. To maintain your street cred, make sure to don your L.A.W. gear the next time you go to the Scarborough Town Centre.
