Have you been missing Topshop lately? Well, we have some good news. According to Retail Insider, the British retailer is headed back into Canada.
Ever since then, if Canadians wanted to purchase trendy clothing from the brand, they had to do so through ASOS, which unfortunately has duties.
Now, Topshop is re-entering, but with the help of another major retailer—Nordstrom.
You’ll be able to browse the brand in-person and on Nordstrom.ca starting April 1, plus you won’t have to pay any extra shipping duties anymore!
Retail Insider also states that allegedly Hudson’s Bay and ASOS were unable to come to an agreement to continue carrying Topshop in Canada, so ASOS turned to Nordstrom. Since losing this, Hudson’s Bay partnered with YM Inc. to have Forever 21 as part of their offering.

Since opening in Spring of 2011, Topshop has been a trendy fashion staple inside of HBC stores.
Arcadia Group, the Topshop owner, went into bankruptcy protection back in November 2020. Luckily, they were then acquired by online-based U.K. retailer ASOS this past February. ASOS apparently plans to move the entire Topshop brand onto its beloved e-commerce platform.
As of 2019, the brand’s US division filed for bankruptcy which led to all of its stores closing down operations.

HBC explained how the company will continue to offer trendy brands, “Hudson’s Bay is growing its millennial and Gen Z offering through elevated brands and in-store experience. We have already introduced brands like Mango, Good American, Sweaty Betty, ALC, AFRM, and Ganni, and are working to launch dozens of new, relevant brands and are anticipating an incredibly compelling fall line-up.”
Although we aren’t too surprised that Topshop is leaving Canada’s retail scene, we have to admit the brand experienced huge popularity before the last few years. Nevertheless, we can’t wait to see how HBC fills the void that will be left by its exit.

Whether you’re shopping for a specific event, a vacation, or need a whole wardrobe overhaul, a personal shopper can be a great help. Lucky for you, there are a handful of stores in Canada that offer personal shopping free of charge! Even if you’re a self proclaimed fashionista, booking an appointment can streamline the shopping process and make your experience that much more successful. There’s nothing worse than not being able to find an item, or waiting forever for a fitting room. Cut out the grunt work, and have an experienced shopper do it for you.

While Nordstrom is one of our favourite department stores, browsing the endless sections of clothing can be overwhelming. A little known fact is that the retailer offers free personal shopping experiences for both men and women. Interested in the service? Book an appointment online and a stylist will connect with you via phone or email to gather your preferences, sizing, specific needs, and more. This way when you arrive at the store for your appointment, a fitting room will be stocked full of pieces selected just for you. How’s that for full service?

It’s so easy to get side-tracked in Anthropologie with all the whimsical clothing and #goals home decor — you were looking for a sweater, but purchased a pillow, we know how it is. If you really are in need of a wardrobe fix, next time you shop make sure to book a stylist appointment. Start by filling out the online form which a personal stylist will review with you before booking your appointment. Once you’re actually in the store shopping, you’ve got options: a wardrobe refresh, evening outing, or help buying for others if you’re gift shopping.

Topshop, one of our favourite British imports doesn’t come without experts to style you to the nines. Available at the brands Vancouver Pacific Centre, Yorkdale, and Queen Street locations in Toronto, a personal shopping appointment is only a call or email away. What this entails is a stylist solely to you, no waiting in line for a fitting room, and a dedicated amount of time. They offer three different types of appointments: The Big Event (60 minutes for a black tie event), The Essentials (60 minutes for a wardrobe bespoke to your needs), and The Wardrobe Overhaul (120 minutes for a complete makeover).

Aritzia isn’t only known for the stylish clothing, but also for the retailer’s uber trendy staff. Book a free personal shopping appointment at any Aritzia boutique and the pros there will be more than happy to share some tips, as well as help you zero in on your own personal style. Not only will you be able to skip the dirty work of skimming the loaded walls for items you’ve seen online, but you’ll also be handed other similar options, along with pieces to complete the outfit. Don’t have time for a in-person stylish sesh? Aritzia also offers styling advice over the phone.

Holt Renfrew houses some of the most beautiful and popular designer brands and sorting through them can be, well, overwhelming. Considering anything from Holts will be a big purchase, it’s a good idea to book a personal shopping experience rather than aimlessly draining your bank account. A personal styling session is complimentary and will score you a private room and curated items that will be waiting for you upon your arrival. Sometimes it just feels good to live your best life, even if you leave empty-handed.

Similar to Holt Renfrew, if you’re going to indulge in a designer purchase, do it right and book a personal shopper at The Room inside Hudson’s Bay on Queen Street in Toronto. While the store-within-a-store houses all of its high-end brands and rare finds, you’ll definitely save when it comes to the retailers personal shopping service as it’s complimentary. This Hudson’s Bay location in particular also offers personal shopping with in-store advisors which is an even better option if you’re on a budget.

There’s nothing more frustrating than trying on a pair of jeans, only to realize they’re 5 inches too long. Being petite definitely has its benefits but when it comes to shopping, it can quickly make life difficult. Thankfully, there are a handful of petite-friendly retailers out there who know our problem way too well — just so you know, I’m standing at 5’2, so I can relate all too well. Petite shopping definitely isn’t what it used to be with so many retailers creating stylish product lines just for us shorties.

Instagram/@louisaxgrace
Say goodbye to frumpy petite sections and say hello to Topshop’s on-trend selection of chic petite styles. If you thought the store only had petite jeans available to shop, think again because Topshop has a full range of items from skirts and jumpsuits, to shorts and even jackets. The section is especially curated for women 5’3 and under, so no more missing out on chic styles because of your height.

Instagram/@bananarepublic
Need some office appropriate clothes? Banana Republic is filled with trendy work staples available in petite-friendly sizes. We all know there’s nothing worse than an ill-fitting pencil skirt, and Banana Republic has us covered with its selection of skirts, dresses, trousers, cardigans, and more, all tailored to us gals on the shorter side.

Instagram/@saracovey
Known for clothing in seriously cool patterns and materials is Anthropologie and it’s petite section is definitely worth checking out and shopping, too. If you’ve ever struggled with wanting to find a maxi skirt that doesn’t drag on the floor behind you, Anthropologie should be next on your shopping list. In addition to its selection of snazzy skirts, the store is filled with petite pieces like denim, culottes, dresses, jackets, and sweaters.

Instagram/@ashleybrozic
Is there anything that you can’t find on ASOS? I didn’t think so. A fave around the world for good reason, the petite section is definitely one to rave about with so many unique options designed for ladies who stand at under 5’3. No matter if you’re in the market for new jeans, or need a fabulous gown to wear for a special occasion, ASOS has you covered and has a variety of pieces that will likely not need to be altered upon arrival.

Instagram/@yasminechanel
Another e-retail that’s a favourite among many is Boohoo and in case you were unaware, it has a stellar petite section that’s just waiting for you. If you’re sick of wearing tops that are far too long or jeans that you have to roll up, step into Boohoo’s world of petite offerings. What I love about the petite section on Boohoo is that it’s filled with sexier options like faux leather leggings, bodysuits, bralets, and mini skirts.

Instagram/@nordstrom
If you’re looking for a one-stop-shop, Nordstrom is the place to go with it’s incredible selection of everything, including petite clothing. No matter what you’re in search of, whether it’s a winter parka, a suit, a gown, or denim, it’s all available in petite-friendly sizing.

Instagram/@jeetly
Instead of us petite girls having just a small section of a store to shop, Jeetly has gifted us with our very own specialty store. This U.K-based retailer has items that were created with petite measurements in mind so that the result is a perfect petite fit.

Instagram/@reformation
Known for its feminine, flowy, and sustainable pieces, Reformation’s petite section consists of gorgeous dresses, skirts, pants, and jumpsuits. While prices might be a bit steep, shopping sustainable is so important these days so it really does pay off!

Instagram/@giulianaxgg
With what seems to be an endless product line, Pretty Little Thing is the place to shop if you’re looking to revamp your petite wardrobe. With items like suits, swimsuits, blouses, trousers, and more available to purchase, you’ll be glad you’re short because everything is so seriously cute!

Instagram/@hudsonsbay
Who doesn’t love a trip to Hudson’s Bay? The iconic Canadian retailer is my go-to store for pretty much everything I need, and it never disappoints, especially in the petite shopping department. Whether you’re after business casual items, cozy loungewear, or a petite blouse to spice up your wardrobe, this is the place to shop!

Living in Canada, the period of time we can chill out in a swimsuit is limited, making it hard to justify splurging on an expensive bather. But finding a swimsuit that’s stylish and affordable can sometimes be a feat in itself. Luckily, there are plenty of retailers — both online and off — offering up collections that don’t break the bank. You’ve got plenty of options!

Over the years, Walmart has really upped its fashion game, so don’t overlook its swimwear section when you’re on the hunt for your next suit. Our pick is this baby blue two-piece that’s perfect for when you’re running through the waves or sitting by the pool. For under $15 for each piece, you can’t go wrong.
Shop it here: Walmart

Party like a pineapple! This tropical printed one-piece will be the talk of the next pool party — and we bet that no one will guess that it’s from Walmart. With its low scoop back and deep V front, it highlights your best assets, and if you’ve got it, you may as well flaunt it!
Shop it here: Walmart

If you’ve been keeping up with the hottest swimsuit trends for 2019, then you already know that the bandeau bikini is one of the most popular looks right now. This two-piece set from Forever 21 features a super ’90s high-waisted bottoms that’ll show off your hipbones and a pastel print that’s too cute to pass up.
Shop it here: Forever 21

Snakeskin has been one of the most popular prints of 2019, so take the trend into the water with you this summer. This little one-piece, which is currently on sale, has a square neck and spaghetti straps. If you’re one to be a little more modest but still want turn heads, this is the suit for you.
Shop it here: Topshop

If you’re looking for a basic swimsuit that’s appropriate for any occasion — family get togethers, pool parties, and beach days — this little black number from Joe Fresh is just what you need. With a V neck that’s not too deep and a full covered bum, you’ll look stylish without having to worry about any slip-ups.

Right now, Aerie is having a killer sale on swimwear, which means you can score a great swimsuit for under $50! This one shoulder cutout bather is the perfect mix of fashion and function, and it also comes in black!
Shop it here: Aerie

Another killer bather in Aerie’s summer sale is this wrap suit. Available in a variety of colours (including black for those who don’t like colours at all), throw a pair of shorts over this swimsuit and nobody will even guess that you just came back from the beach.
Shop it here: Aerie

Diving back into two-pieces with another Aerie find, this one shoulder swimsuit set means you’ve got one less tan line to worry about. If white’s not your thing, it’s also available in different patterns and colours. You can mix and match bottoms with something you already have, but we love this high-waisted pair (on sale for $23.97)!
Shop it here: Aerie

Teeny weenie bikinis are a classic, and if you’re looking to show off some skin, we’ve got just the suit for you. This black bikini from Topshop uses tortoise rings as accents, so it’s not your average black two-piece. Throw on a floppy sun hat and you’ve got a look that’ll kill.
Shop it here: Topshop

While this swimsuit might be more fashionable than functional, if you’re the type who’d rather lounge by the pool than jump in it, you’ll love this two-piece. Off-the-shoulder tops are great for those who are self-conscious about their arms — just make sure to lather up the sunscreen to avoid weird tan lines!
