7 Places To Score A Wedding Dress For Less Than $500
I’m currently knee-deep in planning my own wedding and just like everyone has said, it adds up FAST. While I’m all about spending money on the special things, I’m also realistic about where and how I’m spending my money. So, when it comes to buying a wedding dress, I know I don’t want to spend too much and I’m looking for one less than $500.
The great thing about this mindset is that I’m not alone. There are tons of affordable yet stunning options out there for brides and grooms alike.
I’ve found 7 of the top places to score a wedding dress under $500 — who knew it was even possible?
Studio Fitzroy is a favourite over at here at StyleDemocracy, and I can totally see why! With the affordable dress rentals, it is a great option for someone who isn’t looking to spend a ton of money, but wants to look fabulous nonetheless. A short dress from Studio Fitzroys starts as low as $70, and you get to hold onto it for four whole days. That’s plenty of time for tons of Instagram-worthy photos and is definitely way cheaper than purchasing a wedding dress.
I’ve had my eye on Boudoir 1861 since long before my partner “put a ring on it.” It’s got a gorgeous selection of dresses that make amazing wedding guest or prom dresses. There is even an amazing selection of everyday clothing! The wedding dress selection is honestly amazing for the price points, as you can get a long, white maxi dress for just $80. Prices go up to about $700, which is still pretty reasonable in the wedding industry. You can shop Boudoir 1961 in Montreal, but if you’re not MTL-based, the brands shipping and return policy is pretty reasonable.
Speaking of places online to browse, ASOS actually has a really beautiful selection of dresses under $500. In addition to dresses, there is also a variety of fun and stylish accessories that I am definitely excited to try. If you’re in the market for wedding shoes, the selection at ASOS are stunning, and definitely within my price range. Going for a boho vibe? ASOS definitely has yo covered as its dresses are very flowy and trendy, but absolutely gorgeous and timeless.
I always assumed that as a popular bridal boutique, David’s Bridal had traditional wedding dress prices. Turns out, the brand has an impressive selection under $500. From two-piece sets to full ball-gowns, you can find a ton of beautiful options for modern, yet traditional styles at David’s Bridal. The online experience is pretty great, but it’s probably worth stepping into the store for the special dress shopping experience you only get in person.
It seems kind of crazy that you’d be able to find a dress on Bunz, but with the trading community’s Wedding Zone, you totally can! Along with Facebook Marketplace, and Kijiji, you can find all sorts of beautiful dresses at secondhand prices. It’s definitely worth a look!
Speaking of secondhand options, The Bride’s Project is a great way to get a dress at a great price, all in support of a great cause. People will donate their wedding dresses to be resold to new brides and the proceeds go to cancer charities. To date, the proceeds donated are over a million dollars! The dress selection is constantly changing, but there’s plenty of options under $500. This is the perfect way to be sustainable, help a charitable cause, and get a stunning dress!
Jolie Bridal often has great sales that mark dresses up to 50% off! Now that’s a great way to score a designer dress at a non-designer cost. Keep your eyes peeled because dress prices can start as low as $100, especially on one of the sale days. Check out Jolie Bridal’s social channels to see what’s coming up next!
