Hometown hero Drake has increasingly been confronted about his use of Jamaican Patois. Although Drake was born and raised in Canada, it’s hard not to notice how often the rapper uses a Jamaican accent, especially in his newest album More Life. Some say that he uses it when it’s convenient, others point to the rich cultural heritage of Toronto and the multicultural melting pot of Toronto’s city slang. Thanks to a great video from Vox, the origins of Drake’s lingo is broken down. Take a look at the video below and let us know what you think.
