Drake spoke about the launch in a press release, “Some of my most memorable shows were playing smaller rooms like History. I wanted to take those memories and what I learned to create an incredible experience for both the artists and the fans.”
“We saw an opportunity to bring Toronto a great new venue, and we have so much gratitude and respect for Drake teaming up with us to bring it to life in the best way possible,” said Live Nation Canada in a release.
So, if you’re as excited as we are about returning to a live show, stay tuned for updates!

Drake recently dropped a new clothing label with Nike last week on December 18. The new label is called NOCTA and features black, yellow, and white colourways.
This may have been a massive hint that the rapper and brand were working together again after the Certified Lover Boy collection.
The first drop of NOCTA included puffer jackets, socks, track pants, hats, gloves, t-shirts, and more. Without surprise, the collab is totally sold out.
Drake said in a press release that, “NOCTA is about creating something for people on the move, people who want functional, comfortable fits that are adaptable from one environment to the next… With NOCTA, we were trying to make the hardest jacket, the hardest tracksuit, the hardest gloves. Just the best of that world.”
Stay tuned for the next drop.

Attention all Raptors superfans! If you ever wanted to own a piece of not only basketball history but Toronto history, now is your chance because a Toronto museum is auctioning off Raptors players’ sneakers that they wore during the playoffs.
Instagram/@batashoemuseum
The exhibit is completely dedicated to the sneakers worn the Raptors players during the playoff games. Even though the Raptors won the championship back in June, the celebrations have kept rolling on, despite the fact that TO is losing star players Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green.
Newswire reports that the sneakers on loan to the Bata Shoe Museum include those worn by players Kyle Lowry, Danny Green, Serge Ibaka, Marc Gasol, Norman Powell, Pascal Siakam, and Fred VanVleet, all during the historic 2019 NBA playoffs.
For mega-mega Raptors fans who would love the opportunity to own a pair of these game worn-sneakers, get ready to bid! When the exhibit is over, the sneakers will be auctioned off by the museum to raise money for the MLSE Foundation. Full details on the auction have yet to be announced.

This past weekend, the foot traffic at Square One Shopping Centre was crazy — not only for Black Friday, but because OVO opened its third GTA-based location at the mall.
The store, which is located across from Microsoft and in between B2 Shoes and Lululemon, is the sixth location from Drake’s October’s Very Own label. Other locales include New York, Los Angeles, London, and two in Toronto at Yorkdale Shopping Centre and on Dundas St. West.
An insider tells us that there were around 50 shoppers who slept outside the mall in the cold overnight, waiting to be the first in line for the store opening on Saturday, November 24. To put that dedication into perspective for you, on Friday, November 23, the temperature low was -6°C.

In the photo above, Instagram user @joekville stated, “Almost 5 p.m. and there’s still a lineup. I can’t believe it, the lineup has been steady since 7 a.m.” The same Instagram user also noted that the morning the store was to open, staff were still hard at work prepping to get the space ready for the huge crowd, painting and caulking while people waited in line.
Another Instagram user said, “This line up at Square One for the opening of the OVO store is SERIOUSSSS. Prolly like at least a KM long.”

While the Yorkdale Shopping Centre location is ultra luxurious with a white marble exterior, a mirrored interior, and gold accents, the OVO Mississauga location is a little bit more low-key.
Inside, the walls are stark white, with built in racks and shelves. The brand’s clothing and footwear collections add pops of colour to the space, and visitors are greeted by Bearbrick statues emblazoned with OVO’s owl logo.

And despite long lineups, shoppers were eager and happy to shop the new OVO Mississauga location. Many walked out with pieces from the OVO Kids collection, which is exclusive to the Square One store.
Take a peek at some of the store opening madness below.

If you’re a Drake fan, or a love or hip-hop and rap beefs it would have been pretty hard to miss the lyrical fury that has been erupting between rapper Pusha T and Drake.
whether you think the beef is a coordinated stunt (Pusha T anew album just released and Drake’s Scorpion is set to be released soon) or genuine hatred for each other the media frenzy and the music that comes out of such beefs is loved by fans of hip-hop and the culture.
In Pusha T’s latest scathing diss track ” The Story of Adidon” Pusha claims that Drake fathered a secret son named Adonis, and by doing so also outed Drake’s departure from Jordan Brand to Adidas. It’s a little confusing when you dive into it, but essentially Pusha’s lyrics ” Adonis is your son/And he deserves more than an Adidas Press run, that’s real” refers to Drake’s upcoming Adidas release which was supposed to be called “Adidon”.
Pusha T was on The Breakfast Club radio show and laid out exactly what he was talking about. He revealed that Drake’s Adidon Adidas line was named in reference to Drake’s secret son. Pusha T alluded that the revealing of the line’s name would apparently work as a double paternity announcement and brand tie-in. He is quoted as saying ” Who rolls out their child with a sweatsuit?” He is further quoted “We couldn’t know about your child until you started selling sweatsuits and sneakers?” Heavy words, as this rap beef between Pusha and Drake has seen family members from both sides thrown into the mix.
This tweet by journalist Touré succinctly lays out what happened.
Adidon is the name of Drake’s upcoming Adidas line and now that name will be associated with this beef and Pusha’s monstrous diss track. Pusha has, in effect, screwed up Drake’s brand before it came out.

These days, Drake’s luck has gone from stellar to cellar. The Drake endorsed restaurant, Fring’s, on King West, will be closing soon, and staff member have been told to find new jobs. Chef Grant Soto made the first public announcement on Instagram.
“I’m hearing a rumour that a King Street restaurant that I’ve long had a tumultuous relationship with is closing,” he wrote. “I’m not gonna say who it is yet. But on an unrelated note, here’s a pic of some FRINGS.”
Fring’s, which opened in the fall of 2015, has gotten some bad publicity recently. The restaurant is owned by celebrity chef Susur Lee and his sons Kai and Levi Bent-Lee. Fring’s and other Susur Lee’s restaurants came under fire for an IOU Policy for employees. This meant that the restaurant took tips from staff members to pay for kitchen mistakes, spilled drinks, sending the wrong drink to a table, punching in an incorrect order with the kitchen, and even customers who ate and ran. This practice is forbidden under Ontario’s Employment Standards Act. Some IOUs were worth more then $100. While this policy is no longer in effect, it cost workers much needed cash. A former bartender spoke about how the IOUs created a culture of intimidation and fear.
According to the Ministry of Labour’s website, since June 2016, “employers can’t withhold, make deductions from, or make their employees return their tips and other gratuities.” It further explains that “employers can’t take tips and other gratuities to cover things like: spilled food or beverages, broken supplies (e.g. dishes and glassware)
losses or damages (e.g. from theft or customers who don’t pay their bill).”
In addition, Fring’s had its liquor license suspended last spring for various violations, such as exceeding capacity and promoting “immoderate consumption.” No official closing date has been announced.

Our favourite Toronto music icon Drake has lots going on right now, from dropping banger after banger, creating a clothing line called October’s Very Own, surprising fans at shows, and opening up his very own restaurant. But apparently, his fans aren’t too impressed with his new Yonge Street spot.
The restaurant is called Pick 6IX and we previously wrote about it when it was just opening in January. According to a whole bunch of reviews and our friends at Narcity, the restaurant is actually doing really poorly. Come on Drake, so much for being a 6 God! You’re going to give us trust issues (sorry, I had to).
Apparently, the vibe of the restaurant has a nightclub feel but also of a family dining aesthetic. Sounds weird, no? The wall is decorated with a wall of golden Ace of Spades champagne bottles, which seems highly unnecessary. The Star reported, “while the service is genuinely sweet, the Asian fusion food is overpriced and problematic, like unpleasantly crunchy fried rice for $26.” So, it’s expensive too – big surprise. They even charge for normally-free condiments, like ketchup for $2. Ridiculous, I know.
The restaurant is advertised as a “sushi & Asian-influenced dishes plus drinks served in a sleek gold-accented haunt co-owned by Drake.” Yes, Susur Lee is behind this restaurant as well but Drake is the face of the brand. There is apparently a VVIP section. Yes, that’s spelled correctly.
Sorry, not sure if you’ve seen but the washroom is SLIGHTLY over the top:
Right now, the restaurant is rated a big 2.3 stars on Yelp which isn’t very impressive. Seriously, these reviews should tell you enough:
Another quote from The Star: “Like the rest of Pick6IX, it’s a letdown.” Enough said.

Posts on Instagram and reports through culture blogs like HYPEBEAST are claiming that Drake is unhappy with his Jordan Brand partnership and is seeking opportunities for a better deal. One of the possibilities being speculated on by insiders is that Drake may sign a shoe deal with adidas.
If Drake joined up with adidas he would follow the footsteps of Kanye West who in dramatic fashion also left the Nike family for a working deal with adidas. If Drake did indeed leave Jordan brand for adidas, it would strike a major blow for the Nike owned brand that has been quickly losing its footing to adidas culturally and has already been surpassed by adidas in North American sales.
While neither Drake or adidas has confirmed any of the rumours, adidas has recently told sources like HYPEBEAST that the brand will be making a major announcement in the very near future.
