Amazon's New $200 Echo Look Is A Device That Will Judge Your Outfits

If you’ve found yourself standing in front of the mirror and trying to decide if you look good in your outfit you may be interested in Amazon’s new Echo Look.

Amazon announced that their newest device in the Echo Family – the Echo Look is a “style assistant” camera that will help catalog all your outfits and will rate your look based on an algorithm that’s tied in with advice from fashion specialists.  It’s being touted as a mirror that can learn your look and give you suggestions and ratings based on your clothing.  You will be able to talk to Echo and get it to comment or take photos of your outfit in a 360-degree manner.

The Echo Look will be tied in with Alexa, Amazon’s version of Siri. You will be able to ask the Echo Look to play music, give you traffic updates and weather notifications.

This is another effort to entice people to think about Amazon as a fashion retailer. While details haven’t’ fully been released we expect Echo Look to be connected to Amazon’s fashion retailers and will give you purchasable clothing recommendations based on your current look.

Whether or not you want a robot commenting on your style is your prerogative, but this is just another example of how far retailers are willing to go to integrate themselves into your life.
