It seems that it’s not just retail stores that are feeling the heat these days. It’s just been announced that an iconic Toronto restaurant will be closing its doors after an impressive 59 years.

Sea-Hi Famous Chinese Food that’s located near Bathurst and Wilson in North York will be closing for good on February 29.

The well known Chinese restaurant first opened its doors downtown in Chinatown over 80 years ago, but it’s been at its North York location for almost 6 decades. The sad news of the restaurant’s closing was announced in a Facebook post on the restaurant’s page.

Want to own a piece of the Bathurst Street institution? According to BlogTO, the Chui family who own Sea-Hi Famous Chinese Food will be donating the proceeds from furniture sold to Baycrest Hospital and North York General Hospital, where their children were born.
