In this day and age, it’s kind of a surprising to see, when walking into a store or browsing online, that a brand doesn’t offer inclusive sizing. It’s kind of like when you’re shopping for foundation and you see that there are 7 nude colours and one deep brown shade. What’s even the point in releasing a product that excludes such a large part of the population? This is why we couldn’t be more excited to learn that Canadian fave Aritzia is going to start testing inclusive sizing in its stores.

According to Elle Canada, Aritzia will offer inclusive sizing up to a size 18 in its spring Babaton collection.

The news that the brand was testing inclusive sizing on a trial basis was first reported in The Globe and Mail. Aritzia founder and CEO Brian Hill said, “We’re not sure it’s going to make a meaningful impact to our sales, but we think it’s the right thing to do for our customers.”

As of today, the brands sizing only ranges from An XXXS to A L/XL, or sizes 0 to 10-12.

There’s no word yet on the launch date of this new inclusive collection, but it’s definitely a positive step for the brand. However, for this new spring collection, Aritzia will be using plus size models which is another first for the retailer.

The collection will be available for purchase online at Aritzia.com and at select North American stores.
