To help you make it through the chill, we’re rounding up the best loungewear brands to stock up on to keep warm this winter. From the coziest slippers to the sweatsuits our editors swear by, your comfort level this season will be off the charts.
One of the original sweatpants brands, Lazypants offers the ultimate in comfort for those chilly winter days. Stock up on the beloved ultra-soft sweat sets or pick up a cozy hoodie in the trendiest styles of neutrals or even tiedye!
One of the most successful companies to come out of Canada, Lululemon has a loyal following for good reason. The company’s activewear easily transitions into loungewear, making it a favourite of both fitness fanatics and comfort seekers. From the Align pants (seriously, the material is a must-try) to the Tundra Trek Half Zip, Lululemon’s fashion-meets-function line is perfect for both working out and working from home.
Club Monaco was founded around the idea to offer “better basics” to allow individuals to create classic, effortless looks every day. From the elegant staple pieces for both men and women, it’s no wonder why this is a go-to brand for timeless loungewear.
Undergarment company Knix may have made a name for itself with period-protecting underwear, but it’s expanded to so much more. The company now offers tanks with built-in support, sleep sets, rompers, and cozy waffle knits.
Smash + Tess has become one of the best loungewear brands thanks to its beloved rompers. What started as a limited collection of onesies has now expanded to include celebrity collaborations, robes, dresses, and accessories.
When Kim Kardashian West launched a line of shapewear, nobody could have predicted it would morph into one of the best loungewear brands on the market. In addition to the beloved undergarments, SKIMS now offers seven additional comfortable and cozy collections.
TKEES was created to bring out the power of simplicity. The designs and collections are simple silhouettes that are so perfect to mix, match, and style. If you’re into neutrals, then this is the shop for you.
Roots is the OG in Canadian comfort, offering up warm and cozy sweats since 1973. The company hasn’t veered too far from its roots over the years, still serving up its fleece staples but with added comfort and softer materials.
When Aritzia’s in-house brand TNA came out with a line called COZYAF (which stands for Cozy As Fleece, FYI), it was pretty apparent that it was aiming to become one of the best loungewear brands on the market. And the company succeeded. Aritzia has a ton of cozy sweat sets, tees, cardigans, and more to browse through.
Established in 2012, Kuwalla Tee is a Canadian streetwear brand that redefines everyday basics through elevated essentials. The label offers premium clothing that’s not only stylish but also sustainable and affordable. How can you beat that? Kuwalla Tee is a also proud member of the 1% for the Planet movement and abides by fair labour policies.
Pajamas are having a major moment in 2020, thanks to our new work-from-home lifestyle. What used to be solely for sleeping can now pass as acceptable business meeting attire — if you pick the right sets, of course. Eberjey offers the ultimate in comfort and style, meaning these are PJs you will truly live in.
Kotn’s loungewear is created with high-quality, ethically made Egyptian cotton, so you know that anything from the brand will be super soft. Not only are Kotn’s clothes comfortable, but they are designed to look sophisticated so even while you’re chilling, you’ll look put together and ready to go out.
Available exclusively at Indigo, Love & Lore is exactly what Canadians need to get through the season. The line includes everything from robes to slippers to pajama sets in materials like brushed fleece, faux fur, and soft jersey.

If you follow the celebrity fashion circuit, you’ve heard of Karla Welch. The celebrity stylist has dressed everyone from Justin Bieber to Jared Leto to America Ferreira and now she’s bringing her talents to one of America’s most beloved brands: Eddie Bauer. The two teamed up to develop Eddie Bauer x Karla — a feel-good capsule collection of 1980s-inspired cheery clothing that’s sure to brighten up even the dreariest winter.
Inspired by brands like Esprit (RIP) and Benetton, Welch wanted to bring a sense of joyfulness to the collection — and in a patchwork of bright colours, she was successful. The 24-product line is full of outdoor essentials, like toques, parka jackets, rain jackets and cozy fleece zip-ups. There are also a few must-haves for indoor lounging, like knit sweatpants, knit sweatshirts and mock turtlenecks. And in true 2020 fashion, two face masks cap off the collection.
Welch said it was really important that the pieces in the Eddie Bauer x Karla collection were affordable. Everything is under $300.
The line just launched this week, but there are a few Eddie Bauer x Karla items that already sold out. If you had your sights set on a pair of the brightly coloured knee-high socks or the cropped puffer vest, we have bad news: those were the first items to fly off the virtual shelves.
The rest of the collection is available now on both Eddie Bauer’s website and Karla Welch’s website.

When The Oprah Winfrey Show was on the air, fans would wait all year long to see which must-have items the talk show host couldn’t live without. In November, one episode would be dedicated to Oprah’s Favorite Things (we’re talking everything from cars to trips to high-end designer goods) and she would hand out the whole list to a group of deserving viewers.
Though the show’s ended, Oprah’s Favorite Things lives on thanks to her eponymous magazine, O, The Oprah Magazine. And this year’s list is extra special. In an effort to further the movement for racial equality, Oprah and her team have hand-picked 72 items from Black-owned or -led companies.
Unfortunately, many of Oprah’s picks aren’t available outside the U.S., but we did find a few that Canadians can get their hands on.

In case you missed the memo, 2020 is the year of Schitt’s Creek. The Canadian comedy made history at the 72nd Emmy Awards when it swept the comedy categories, landing accolades for its four stars: Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Dan Levy, and Annie Murphy. Fun fact: Dan Levy actually snagged a total of four trophies, including wins for acting, writing, and directing.
Now, two of the show’s stars are taking on another Canadian institution: Hudson’s Bay. Last week, the iconic department store announced that Annie Murphy and Catherine O’Hara would be the stars of the its 2020 holiday campaign.
The two actresses will make their Hudson’s Bay debut on Nov. 2, on primetime television, the store’s social channels (@hudsonsbay) and on thebay.com.

Staying on track with a fitness routine through a global pandemic is a near-impossible task. We tried turning living rooms into gyms, offices into yoga studios and TVs into stand-in instructors, but it was just more than most could handle. It didn’t live up to the real thing, and our workout routines suffered because of it.
But now, as we embark on this “new normal,” we’re trying to get our fall fitness routines back to normal, too. And one of the easiest places to find some post-lockdown motivation is in our favourite stores. Shop some of this season’s coolest (and warmest) workout gear and your fall fitness routine will be back in shape in no time.
Though we’ve been blessed with a longer summer than anyone expected, we all know winter is coming. These three jackets will keep you warm (and active) through the seasons.
