Beer and Cider to Be Available in 80 New Ontario Grocery Stores

This summer it looks like its going to be way more convenient to get your hands on some ice beer or cider.  More grocery stores in Ontario will have the legal ability to sell beer and cider as early as this summer due to the news that the LCB will open up a new bidding process for 80 new permits.

Currently, 130 grocery stores have the right permits to sell beer and cider, and the government is looking at a total of 450 stores with licenses by the end of this process.

Although there will be more permits issued, the rules on vending beer and cider are still very strict in the grocery stores. Beer must be stocked in a designated “beer” area and will only have the ability to sell six packs or singles.

Are you excited that more stores will be carrying your favourite beer and cider?
