There has been an economic slowdown in our nation’s capital for some time now, and it looks like it has claimed its latest victim.
Elgin Sports which was founded in 1946 looks like it’s closing down. The store is currently holding a liquidation sale to get rid of remaining stock but it looks as if another one of Ottawa’s classic retailers will go the way of the dodo.
The Ottawa Citizen is reporting that Elgin Sports is closing due to increased costs required for running a store. The lease expires at the end of the month and the store’s general manager has opted not to renew the store’s lease.
