We Tested The Most Instagrammable Mask Right Now - Here's What We Thought

Product in question: Dr. Jart+ Shake & Shot Brightening Rubber Mask
Price: $15
Review: **** 4 out of 5

Dr. Jart+ has recently surged the shelves at Sephora with affordable beauty buys that always deliver on their promises. The latest product in question – a rubber mask packaged in a fun smoothie jar. While we could do without the creepy face sitting atop the container, we did love the immediate and lasting results.

This product has four available formulations to choose from, each targeted to a specific skin concern (hydration, brightening, firming and soothing). When it comes to this particular brightening formulation, your skin will be treated to a blend of vitamin C and sea buckthorn fruit extract. This Shake & Shot product will help brighten dull skin, revitalize texture and even out the complexion.

Inside the container, you will find a booster (part 1), a liquid ampule (part two) and a spatula for smearing. Simply open the cap, remove the tools and packages, pour in part one and part two, close the lid and shake. When the product turns into a cream, it’s time to spread an even layer over clean skin – just watch out for your eyes and mouth. Let this set for 15 to 20 minutes, and then remove the “rubber” mask. If you find any residue, simply rinse away with warm water and a fresh towel.

Once my complexion curing session was complete, the results were evident. My skin was clean, clear and boasted a luminescent glow. While the price is quite steep for a one-time use mask, we would highly recommend this for a once-monthly power treatment.

The Pros:
* Effective

* Relatively easy-to-use

* Fun packaging

* Reputable Brand

* Doesn’t drip as the mask solidifies once applied

The Cons:

* You have 3-minutes to apply the mask before it hardens

* $15 for a one-time use mask is expensive

* Can be a bit messy prior to application

* The steps are not great for a lazy-girl beauty routine
