Lululemon – the masters of activewear have always been ahead of the curve when it comes to creating livable and highly functional products. As the popularity of athleisure and activewear is coming closer and closer to reaching its zenith, Lululemon has decided to try something new. For the last few months, Lululemon in partnership with California-based Athletic Propulsion Labs has been selling and creating Lululemon’s first ever sneaker collaboration.
According to Racked, the three-style collection is based on APL’s best selling silhouettes – the Techloom and the Ascend, but has been created in special Lulu colorways. The shoes are currently available online and also made an appearance in August at Lululemon stores.
This is a solid direction for Lululemon, who thrives in a crowded marketplace. The addition of a sneaker line rounds-out Lulu’s offering and adds a much-needed element that all of their customers use. By default, if you are into athleisure you are also into sneakers. Giving Lulu fans the options of buying sneakers in-store and online with their tights and hoodies is a brilliant idea.
