Staples Canada Introduces Unique Coworking Spaces

Huge changes are coming to the Canadian office supply retail giant, Staples. Recently, the company has announced that it will be rebranding its stores and turning them into concept spaces with new services and spanking new design that will forever change the way we think about the brand.

The new Staples will be called the Working and Learning Company and will feature a coworking space, called Staples Studio.

The main idea of Staples Studio is to offer customers a unique space where they will be able to collaborate, get inspired, work and of course, learn and grow together as a community.

The best part is that customers will also be able to check out new discovery areas to test and learn curated product solutions.

“The way people work and live is changing in profound ways and Staples Canada is adapting to help our customers work, learn and grow,” said David Boone, CEO, Staples Canada. “We spoke to thousands of entrepreneurs, teachers, students and parents to gain insights on what we could do to better suit their needs, and we’re delivering a solution unique to Canada. Every decision we make is driven by thinking differently about the needs of our customers.”

The company has already introduced its first new concept store in Kirkland, Quebec. The first Toronto store will be located downtown at Staples’ 375 University Ave store and will be open to the public starting January 2019.

“The environment we’ve created in our concept stores invites anyone coming in to spend time with us, find a place to relax and hang out, explore products, grab a coffee, share ideas and work together,” added Boone.

Here’s what else you can expect from the new coworking spaces:

  • Discovery experience – Customers that come to Staples to purchase tech products, will be able to experience the products they need in store, including new Pen and Journal Bars, and Tech Discovery Zone
  • Spotlight – This new space is meant for community members, entrepreneurs, educators and students to meet, share ideas and learn through Staples Canada’s weekly Spotlight Speaker Series.
  • Expanded services – For customers who run their own business and want to learn more, Staples will be offering the Solution Shop, which will provide the necessary support and even offer such services as digital marketing.
  • Technology and connectivity – Being one of the largest technology retailers in the country, Staples Canada carries every major technology brand, organized by category, with experts on hand to help customers connect their homes and offices.
