Cake Boss is coming to the city! Carlo’s Bakery Bake Shop Express will be opening a location in Toronto this summer.
Back in January of this year, the very first Canadian spot opened in Port Credit. It offers a ton of yummy treats and the iconic Buddy Valastro cakes.
The Yorkville express store will also have an assortment of classic cannolis, lobster tails, cakes, and more.
Of course, the machines don’t offer a whole lot of options, but they’ve been great to hold Torontians over until the new location opens in the summer!

Canadians got their first taste of Cake Boss when Carlo’s Bakery began offering delivery in June of last year, as well as a handful of ‘Cake Boss’ vending machines that popped up in Toronto and Mississauga.
Carlo’s Bakery will take over a 3,200 square foot space that will offer just about everything your craving.
Buddy Valastro, who you may know as the owner of Carlo’s Bakery, said in a press release, “When my father bought the original Carlo’s Bakery location in the 1960s, it was his dream to make the bakery a household name. With the ongoing success of our nationwide shipping in Canada at carlosbakery.ca, we are so excited to bring our world-famous desserts to Canada with a retail bakeshop and becoming part of the community.”

In case you missed the sweet, sweet news, last month a few Cake Boss cake vending machines popped up in the PATH without notice. These cake vending machines contain slices of cake from Carlo’s Bake Shop that’s owned by celebrity baker, Buddy Valastro.
Carlo’s Bake Shop originated in Hoboken, New Jersey but now has locations in cities like New York City, Las Vegas, Orlando, San Antonio, Santa Monica, and Philadelphia.
Because of their success, the company behind the vending machines, Express Retail Group, has plans to install more.
“Given the success, there are plans to potentially add more throughout Toronto, but specific locations are still to be determined,” said Chris Zownir, President and Partner at Express Retail Group in an article on BlogTO.
There’s also the addition of a new attendant on site that’ll help “to better understand customer experience with the machine and better gauge demand for that day,” Zownir said.
Right now there are just three of the cake vending machines in the PATH and originally they were being restocked just once per day. Due to its success, the machines are now being restocked up to four times per day.
Even better is that these cake vending machines have room for eight full-size cakes. Here’s hoping that one day we’ll be able to buy the whole cake instead of just slices of the good stuff.

Those with a sweet tooth can choose from options like carrot cake, rainbow, red velvet, and of course, chocolate.
Carlo’s Bake Shop originated in Hoboken, New Jersey but now has locations in cities like New York City, Las Vegas, Orlando, San Antonio, Santa Monica, and Philadelphia.
While the bake shop’s delectable desserts can be ordered online and shipped anywhere, this is its first step into the Canadian market. There’s no word yet on if these vending machines might mean that its planning a Toronto or Canadian outpost. We guess only time (and cake!) will tell.
