Run, don’t walk to the Urban Planet at the Toronto Eaton Centre. The store is currently having a ton of discounts before it permanently closes the location.
This store location was actually once home to a Forever 21 a few years ago. Back in 2019, YM Inc. opened a handful of stores like Urban Planet, Urban Behaviour, and Stitches in Forever 21 locations.
There should be a lot of inventory left if you decide to browse the sale, as the discounts just started.

After 13 years of dressing some of Toronto’s most stylish men, a staple menswear retailer is closing its doors.
Theodore 1922, located just west of Bloor St. West and Spadina at 374 Bloor St. West, will be saying goodbye to the Annex neighbourhood. The closure marks an end of an era, as the strip transforms from a once-bustling garment district to a slew of student-friendly restaurants, cafes, and pubs.
While the boutique will, without a doubt, be missed by its long-time customers and fanbase, Theodore 1922 is going out with one last hurrah.
Back in the summer, news broke that Ohio-based DSW Inc. would be shuttering its Town Shoes brand. There are 38 Town Shoes stores across Canada, which will all be closing by the end of the company’s fiscal year in January.
When the story broke, it was a sad day for Canadians who grew up with the retailer. But unfortunately for many mid-luxury brands, it’s hard to stay afloat with so much competition in the market.
While it’s always sad to see a retailer close their doors for good, we do love a good store closing sale — especially with deals like these!
Our SaleSpy dropped by the Yorkdale Shopping Centre location to get the scoop.
The closing sale has been running for some weeks now, and the discounts are getting better as stores near the end of the company’s fiscal year. Right now, stores are advertising that prices are up to 70% off. Shoppers can get an additional 20% off their entire purchase when they buy three pairs of shoes or more.
In addition to formal shoes, sneakers, sandals, and boots for both men and women, the sale also features some premium brands. Shoppers will find good deals on brands like UGG, Pajar, and Sorel, which are 30% off regular retail prices.
Other brands featured in the sale include Champion, Fenty, Kate Spade, New Balance, Via Spiga, Sam Edelman, L.L. Bennett, Vince Camuto, Converse, and more.
If you’re looking for a high-quality bag for work, formal occasions, or everyday life, you’ll want to check out the Town Shoes closing sale. Our SaleSpy spotted brands like Armani Exchange and Matt & Nat, to name a couple.
Keep in mind, selection will vary store-to-store for bags, footwear, and accessories.
Like we said, this sale has already been running for a while now, and the stores’ stock is flying out the doors! While there are still tons of amazing finds, it’s best to hurry down and shop as soon as possible.
All Town Shoes store will close by the end of January, so if you want to wait for even deeper discounts, we’d suggest visiting in the next few weeks. But again, selection will be limited during that time.
If you’re not interested in braving the nearest mall, you can also shop the sale online at townshoes.ca. Just keep in mind that because it’s a closing sale, all sales are final. So, if the shoe doesn’t fit, you can’t return it.

It’s always sad to see a retailer go, especially a Canadian retailer that we grew up with.
As reported, home decor chains Bombay Company and Bowring Brothers filed for creditor protection earlier this year. As a result, store closing sales have been happening across Canada.
Bowring, which was founded in St. John’s by clockmaker Benjamin Bowring in 1811, has been trouble for a little while. According to CTV News, back in 2014, the chains were placed under court protection from creditors and given time to develop a new business plan. But over the years, the houseware retailers were unable to pull themselves out of the slump.
While we hate to see another Canadian retailer go — we said goodbye to Jean Machine earlier this year — luckily, we can still support Bombay and Bowring by shopping their sales.
Right now, everything in-store is 20-50% off. While we can’t be certain, history shows us that liquidation sales typically start with the smallest discounts and get deeper and deeper as leases end.
A quick browse of the store revealed that at this point, most items are marked at 20% off, with a few 50% off items — like wine glasses — sprinkled across the store.
Items featured in the sale include picture frames, mirrors, holiday decorations, vases, glassware, tableware, pillows, throw blankets, and much more.
If you’re looking for gifts for a holiday or wedding, Bowring is a pretty good place to start looking! Just note that because it’s a store closing sale, returns and exchanges likely won’t be allowed.
Take a closer look inside the sale below.
Canada-wide sales started at the beginning of November, so it’s likely that the sales will run through till the end of the year.
If 20-50% off isn’t a deep enough discount for you, we suggest holding out a little bit longer. Just remember: the best of the best always gets taken first, so if you see something you like, it’s best to grab it now.

There goes another one! We told you in early May that Express would be closing all Canadian operations and store locations. It seems like each week we are spreading the news of a retailer that can no longer stay afloat. While we hate to see Express close in Canada, we can’t resist a good sale where everything must go! We recently checked out Express to see what’s on sale now that they’re closing.
Express is a global specialty apparel retailer for men and women. With 17 Canadian locations marking down and clearing out merchandise weekly, we had to dive in to check out the closing sales.
At Express, save a minimum of 40% off ladies’ casual apparel, work wear and party dresses. Take an additional 60% off all clearance apparel (usually hiding in the back of the store). We spotted a generous selection of spring and summer sale footwear, handbags, accessories and fragrances storewide.
Express has closing sales for the boys, too! Shop 40% off men’s casual apparel, suits, formal attire and undergarments. Who knew they had such a large and stylish selection?
The Express closing sale is worth a trip for her and him! Just don’t forget: all sales are final.

A few weeks ago we posted an article about the impending closure of the Flagship New Era Store on Queen Street West.
While it’s always sad to see a good store go, we’ve had numerous reports from our shoppers on the street that you can now pick up most of the reaming stock at New Era for $10. If you are a baseball cap style person, this is a great deal for high quality branded New Era hats.
If you’re looking for something for yourself or maybe a gift for a friend or family member, check out the New Era Store on Queen closing sale at 202 Queen Street West.
