Probably one of the easiest tasty pumpkin treats to make is pumpkin pancakes. As it’s literally the same as making regular pancakes, but with a different mix. Stonewall Kitchen has a great Pumpkin Pancake & Waffle Mix, which features a mix of spices and pumpkin flavour. Making them on a chilly fall Sunday morning would be perfection!

Okay, this is where things get a little more complicated. Pumpkin-flavoured cupcakes are such a delicious and festive dessert option, even to bring into school or the office. At first glance, this recipe might feel a little intimidating because it requires a decent amount of ingredients, but once you get the ingredients out of the way, it’s super easy to make.

Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls

We can just smell pumpkin cinnamon rolls baking in the oven, waiting to be enjoyed. For this recipe, you’re going to need to block out at least 3 hours, but we think it’s safe to say it will be so worth it. Made with pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and maple cream cheese icing, every bite will taste like fall.

Creamy Pumpkin Pasta

Toronto is finally getting its very own T&T Supermarket! Now those living in downtown Toronto won’t have to travel far to get delicious dumplings and egg tofu.

The new T&T Supermarket is located at 297 College Street and opens Friday, August 20 at 9 a.m.

Since T&T closed its Port Lands location in January 2020, which was the closest to downtown Toronto, this store opening is fantastic news for fans.

If you’ve never checked out a T&T Supermarket, you definitely should! The grocer is owned by Loblaws and features mouth-watering Asian products.

It also operates a handful of other spaces in Markham, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Mississauga, and Aurora.

T&T Supermarket posted an exciting video about the grand opening stating, “To all friends in Toronto, join us on our opening day to celebrate this long-awaited moment with lots of joy and gifts. The first 100 customers will receive a $10 gift card. Free recycle bag when purchasing over $68 or more. $10 coupon when purchasing over $88 or more (redeem 9/3-9/16)”

The famous Belgian chocolate company, Godiva has made the difficult decision to close its shops across North America. Unfortunately, this means that 128 locations, 11 of which are in Canada, will shutter by the end of March this year.

This may in fact come as a surprise to some, as about two years ago, the chocolate company opened its first cafe and then announced plans to open 2,000 more across the globe by 2025. Clearly, the unprecedented times we are living in have altered the brand’s expansion plans in the worst way possible.

Both Godiva cafes and retail boutiques will be included in the closures.

A post shared by GODIVA (@godiva)

The Chief Executive Officer at Godiva, Nurtac Afridi, said in a press release, “Our brick-and-mortar locations in North America have had a clear purpose since we first opened our doors in this market — to provide an in-person experience for consumers to enjoy the world’s most exquisite chocolates.”

However, since Godiva can no longer serve customers in-person because of pandemic restrictions, the company concluded that it must close.

Facebook/GODIVA

Although Godiva is closing stores in North America, we can still enjoy its delicious sweets. Fortunately, the brand’s products will still be sold on shelves at retail outlets and available for online shopping.

Godiva will continue its retail operations in Europe, Middle East, and China.

If sugary breakfast cereals were your jam when you were growing up, then this news is bound to perk you up. It’s just been announced that Tim Hortons is launching a new Froot Loops donut.

The Froot Loops donut is a plain donut that’s covered in strawberry fondant and topped with Froot Loops.

According to Narcity, the donut will be available to snack on as of May 6, but if it looks familiar, there’s a reason why. The Froot Loops donut had been seen at the chain’s Innovation Cafe in Toronto in the summer.

This time around, the donut is also going to be a Timbit as well.

The Timbit version will be a citrus-flavoured cake donut that, similar to the full-size donut, is topped with strawberry fondant and crushed Froot Loops.

Tim Hortons

The full-size Froot Loops donut retails for $1.99 while the Timbit costs $0.29 each and can be found at participating Tim Hortons restaurants.

Dreaming of IKEA’s famous meatballs? Well now you can make them yourself at home because the global furniture retailer with its even more iconic in-store restaurant has blessed us with the recipe.

In true IKEA fashion, the meatball recipe has been shared in cute step-by-step instructions, similar to a manual for building its furniture.

Instagram/@ikeacanada

The recipe isn’t at all complicated, unlike building IKEA furniture, and it’s comprised of ingredients that can be easily found at your local grocery store. We bet you even have most them in your refrigerators at home.

Here’s how to make them!

IKEA

For the meatballs

  • 500g beef mince
  • 250g pork mince
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 clove of garlic, crushed or minced
  • 100g breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 5 tablespoons of whole milk
  • generous salt and pepper

Method:

  • Combine beef and pork mince and mix with your fingers to break up any lumps. Add finely chopped onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, and mix. Add milk and season well with salt and pepper
  • Shape mixture into small, round balls. Place on a clean plate, cover, and store in the fridge for 2 hours. This will help them hold their shape whilst cooking.
  • In a frying pan, heat oil on medium heat. When hot, gently add meatballs and brown on all sides.
  • When browned, add to an ovenproof dish and cover. Place in a hot oven (180°C or 160°C with a fan) and cook for 30 minutes more.

For the cream sauce:

  • dash of oil
  • 40g butter
  • 40g plain flour
  • 150ml vegetable stock
  • 150ml beef stock
  • 150ml thick double cream
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp dijon mustard

Method:

  • Melt 40g of butter in a pan. Whisk in 40g of flour and stir for 2 minutes. Add 150ml of veg stock and 150ml of beef stock; continue to stir. Add 150ml of double cream, 2 tsp soy sauce, and 1 tsp dijon mustard.
  • Bring to a simmer and allow sauce to thicken.
  • When ready to eat, serve over meatballs with your favourite potatoes — either a creamy mash or mini boiled potatoes.
