Is there anything better than settling into a cosy theatre, grabbing a bag of popcorn and settling in to watch a great movie? In our opinion when those movies are free the answer is YES!
Cineplex has just announced that on October 27th, movie-lovers, friends and families across the Greater Toronto Area (“GTA”) are invited to visit their local Cineplex theatre to enjoy a morning of free films for a great cause. For the eighth consecutive year, Cineplex Community Day will treat guests to a selection of popular movies, with all proceeds from donations and select concession sales supporting the Company’s national charitable partner, WE Charity. WE Charity is part of WE – a family of organizations that makes doing good, doable.
This year’s line-up of free films includes popular releases from Paramount Pictures for movie-lovers of all ages, including Sherlock Gnomes, Daddy’s Home 2, Transformers: The Last Knight, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows and Book Club.
It gets better, not only are the movies free, guests can enjoy popcorn, drinks and select candy for just $2.50 if you make a $2.50 donation to WE Charity at participating theatres.
Cineplex theatres across the GTA will open their doors at 9:00 AM (local time) on Saturday, October 27, 2018, with tickets available on a first-come, first served basis. Movies will begin at 9:30 AM (local time) and all locations will return to regular programming in the afternoon.

Officially, the event kicks off in just over a month, as the Christmas Market rolls into town on November 15, 2018.
As always the Christmas market will feature entertainment, beer gardens and wine stands, Christmas themed vendors and is truly one of the gems of the city nestled in the historic Distillery District.
The Christmas Market is great fun for the whole family with free admission during weekdays. If you want to go at night or during the weekend there is a charge, but all proceeds go to supporting local charities.
Funds raised from ticket sales will go to support three charities. The Daily Bread Food Bank, Plan International Canada and The Toronto Star Sandal Claus Fund.
If you are interested in visiting the market, tickets are available online, or you can get tickets at the door.

During the off-season, Canada’s Wonderland is planning on adding a massive attraction that will drastically alter the property’s skyline. The entertainment park plans on erecting the longest, fastest and tallest dive roller coaster in the world. The new roller coaster will be situated in the newly themed area Frontier Canada and will be dubbed the Yukon Striker.
The Yukon Striker will be the country’s first dive coaster and Canada’s Wonderland’s 27th roller coaster in the park. A side note, this new addition puts Wonderland in the number 3 sport for the park with the most roller coasters.
The Yukon Striker promises “an exhilarating journey along its 3,625 feet of mountainous track where guests will be treated to a spectacular view stretching to the Toronto skyline. The coaster features a ‘hold and dive’ element where riders will literally be hanging on the edge of their seats, on one of three wide, floorless trains, breathlessly awaiting the 90-degree, 245-foot drop. Once released, the coaster dives from zero to 130 kilometres per hour straight down into an underwater tunnel before soaring up over steel track, propelling riders through four dynamic inversions and gravity-defying weightlessness. ”
The new coaster is designed by Bollinger & Mabillard and will supposedly claim several world records including:
The weather over the weekend was fabulous and had me inspired to deconstruct this cute little DIY Spring terrarium I made late last week at an event with Crown Flora. I’m a huge fan of air plants, they are super low maintenance and such a perfect way to add life to the home without too much work. Much of the decorative materials I used can be purchased from a craft shop (heck, check the dollar store, lots of goodies there!), with the exception of the terrarium glass dome and air plant. You’ll likely have to visit a floral/garden supplies shop for these specialty items. But free to plant your air plant terrarium using other types of vases, there are so many options out there!
Step by Step: Secure the air plant in it’s place first inside the vase. Spoon assorted stones and rocks as a support anchor to the air plant. / Arrange a variety of moss around the base / Place remaining decorative items / Be creative and have fun! / To hang the vase, simply loop a ribbon, rope, or twine through the top hole and affix to the ceiling of your home with a nail or screw.
Air plants prefer cooler temperatures and an atmosphere that is not too dry, they can survive typically from water mist. However, you will need to submerge the plan in water for two to three hours about every 2 weeks.

As Father’s Day quickly approaches, a comedian in Toronto has decided to go undercover and have a traditional “Dad Off”. The prank video satirizes a satire and finds comedian Rodrigo Fernandez-Stoll dressing up as a 70 year-old-man and challenging people in a “Dad Off” similarly to the Uncle Drew Basketball commercial featuring Kyrie Irving of the Clevland Cavaliers. While this video is all just for fun it’s important to remember our dads and the quirky crazy things they do. Happy Father’s Day!

If you’re between the ages of 24-35 It’s likely you’ve been to a bunch of weddings and have had to deal with a registry. Whether it’s your wedding registry or your friends, the registry process usually takes place at only a handful of shops and department stores. What would you think if a pizza chain entered the wedding registry world? Pretty weird right? Well, Domino’s Pizza has just announced its own wedding registry service today.
The registry is fully customizable by the couple who create the registry and will allow wedding guests to choose and purchase a variety of gifts to enjoy before during and after the wedding. Friends and family can easily select gifts the happy couple wants through a unique shared URL.
After creating and customizing their registry, couples can choose from a variety of featured gifts to enjoy before, during and after the wedding. For those who aren’t sure what to serve at pre-wedding festivities like bachelorette parties, Domino’s has it covered with “Cater the Bachelorette Party.” Registrants also have the option to treat wedding guests to pizza at the end of the reception by adding “Dancing with My Slice” to their registry. After the newlyweds settle into their life together, they can enjoy a “Low-key Date Night” or take advantage of “An Excuse Not to Cook” with Domino’s. All gifts will be delivered to the lucky recipients as Domino’s eGift cards.
“Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, so we wanted to give recently-engaged couples that are passionate about pizza the chance to register for something they both truly love as much as their partner,” said Jenny Fouracre, Domino’s spokesperson. “Choosing wedding gifts can be a daunting process, especially if couples can’t agree on what to register for. Our registry aims to bring couples together over their shared love of pizza.”
“We hear often from customers that Domino’s was a part of their big day, from proposals to after-hours meals at their wedding,” said Fouracre. “We wanted to make it easier for people to ask for and receive something that they’ll really use.”
