If you’re lucky enough to escape the freezing cold this winter to a place where the grass is green, the palm trees sway in the humid breeze, and the water is warm, then there’s a good chance you need to stock up on new swimwear. Dipping in and out of the pool all summer might’ve taken a toll on your favourite bikini, and now you’re panicking to find one that fits and feels the same. Luckily, we rounded up 11 places to buy bathing suits online for a cold weather getaway that champion comfort, quality, size inclusivity, and style.
REVOLVE has a wide variety of swimsuits and beach fashion pieces from different brands for you to shop right on its website. The shop always carries the latest trendy styles, so you can trust you’ll be looking chic while laying out on the beach.

From ocean blue turquoise to sandy beige, Saltwater Collective handcrafts flawless swimwear basics. Sewn by local Toronto seamstresses, all Saltwater one pieces and bikinis are made out of sustainable fabrics like econyl yarn which is spun from wasted nylon fabric. There’s nothing better than wearing something that’s better for the water while you’re swimming in it, right?

Also made in Toronto, Unika swimsuits are comprised of econyl yarn too. The brand was founded by Brazilian native, Betsy Campos, who was inspired by her heritage and how every beach bum’s swimwear reflected their style. Through Unika, Campos aims to empower women to recognize their individuality and feel confident in a swimsuit, which is now more possible with an in-store fitting at her Yorkville boutique.

To live “unapologetically free” is Knix’s motto, and its body-loving bathing suits allow you to do just that. The creators of seamless bras and functional underwear have now expanded into designing swimwear that fits cups sizes A to G and pants sizes 2 to 22. Plus, they’re wire and chafe free.
Incase you weren’t aware Aritzia now sells swimwear! Like the rest of Artizia’s inventory, its swimwear collection is full of elevated basics that will never go out of style.

Go ahead and conjure up a daydream of a countryside villa in the south of Italy, where the paintings are as plentiful as the spritzes and empty lawn chairs in the steamy summer heat. What would you want to be wearing? We’ll answer that for you and suggest an artfully designed one piece by Cult Gaia. It’ll live in your wardrobe forever.

Founded by South African model and Victoria’s Secret Angel Candice Swanepoel, Tropic of C is a swimwear line that celebrates the female form and a life spent at the beach. Right down to the bamboo tags and biodegradable garment bags, it’s a true eco-brand. Tropic of C also uses a bioplastic derived from tree pulp to make the hygiene liners for the inside of bathing suit bottoms, which are completely compostable. Another one, for the planet.

Just like its clothing, Aerie swimwear is all about making women feel good, inside and out. And with un-retouched models pictured in every style on their website, that’s exactly what the brand has accomplished. Its bathing suits are just as cute as its intimates and pyjamas, and they’re all available in cup sizes AA to DDD.
Everlane is known for its sustainability efforts by partnering with ethical factories, using fine materials for its pieces, and creating timeless designs. Its swimsuit collection is no different! At Everlane you can shop a variety of staple swimwear pieces that are built to last, so you can take them with you on many vacations to come.

Wondering where you’ve seen a Hunza.G swimsuit before? You might recognize the iconic Hunza dress that Julia Roberts wears in the most classic of rom-coms, Pretty Woman. Today, London-made Hunza.G bikinis are literally everywhere, and they’re the absolute comfiest. Even Hailey Beiber’s a fan.

Youswim might make the most comfortable swimsuits ever, and we know that’s a bold statement to make. Though it’s possible, because the brands suits adapt to fit your body’s natural state of flux. If you’re a size 2 to 14, Youswim has got you covered – its suits are seven sizes in one. These suits are also ethically woven, dyed, cut, and sewn in England using European-sourced nylon and elastane.

Modcloth‘s bathing suits come in a full range of sizes up to a 34. The brand use of original patterns and vivid fabrics are seen in high-waisted and vintage-inspired designs that aim to represent all different shapes and styles. As they like to say, every outfit (or swimsuit) is an opportunity to express yourself, and there’s no way you can’t in a piece of Modcloth swimwear.

If you’re looking for a suit with a little extra coverage, Left On Friday’s Italian-made Smoothing Dream Fabric is just what you need in your life. You can count on it to be compressive when wet and dry, hiding the appearance of cellulite and leaving a buttery feeling on the skin. Its snag resistant too because as LOF puts it, sometimes a girl has to sit on the pool deck – right?

Summersalt took over 1.5 million body measurements from 10,000 women to inform how its swimsuits fit. Now, if that isn’t a commitment to making every woman feel confident in their own skin while wearing one of the brands bathing suits, we don’t know what is. Summersalt’s brightly coloured fabrics and chic patterns make its swimwear perfect for the modern nomad who wants to look just as fashionable in her skivvies as she does on the streets.
Sometimes there’s nothing worse than finding the right sizing online, especially in terms of swimsuits. Hunza G is here to the rescue with its 80s-style crinkle-design fabrics that make its pieces one-size-fits-most! Seriously though, it’s like sisterhood of the travelling swimsuits.

Fact: bras can be uncomfortable. And let’s be real, no one wants to be stuck wearing an itchy or tight bra all day, but hey, it happens. Because of this, it comes as no surprise why so many women are opting to go bra-free these days. Rather than give up hope altogether, we’re here to tell you that there are some incredibly soft and comfortable bras out there that will not only solve those frustrating problems but will actually leave you feeling like you’re not wearing one at all. Whether you’re looking for the perfect t-shirt bra, wireless option, or bralette, these brands have you covered.
When it comes to comfort, Toronto-based Knix is a world leader in both wire-free bras and functional underwear. Designed to make women feel comfortable in their own skin, Knix has pioneered the use of a patented bonding technology to create seamless, chafe-free designs, as well as fabrics with support structures built right into them. Each bra was designed for all-day comfort and wire-free support that takes to your body, so you’ll never have to deal with uncomfortable and unflattering fits again. Plus, there are several bra styles and sizes to choose from.

You’ll never find pesky underwires at Uniqlo, thanks to the popular brand’s modern approach to intimates, which includes using soft, breathable, and innovative fabrics, making each piece unlike anything you’ve ever seen (or felt) before. Here you’ll find an impressive selection of seamless bras in every colour, shape, form, and strap-style, so whatever your taste is, there’s a bra that’s perfect for you.

If you like to keep your intimates more on the simple side and aren’t crazy about funky colours, uncomfortable wires, or bulky padding, we highly recommend giving Underbares a try. This US-based brand puts comfort first and its collection is a testimate to that. Here you’ll find pared-down bras in neutral and skin-coloured hues, each made with a honeycomb-patterned lace. Each bra is priced at a reasonable $44 and sizes range from 30A to 38D.
Chances are you shopped at Aerie from time to time when you were younger, but we’re here to let you know that you need to get your booty back in your nearest Aerie store ASAP to check out its bras. Here you’ll find bras in a wide range of styles including push up, lightly lined, unlined, bralettes, and sports bras, all in inclusive sizes and incredibly comfortable and moveable fabrics.
If you’re ready for a bra company that truly represents ALL women and body types, ThirdLove is definitely it. Made with millions of real womens measurements, not size templates, ThirdLove can recommend you your perfect bra in just 60 seconds, and you won’t even have to step into a dressing room. What we truly love about this brand is how comfortable every bra is, as they are made with simple details like tagless labels, straps that won’t slip, and ultra-soft fabrics.

If the first thing you do when you get home from work is take off your bra, trust us when we say, Richer Poorer has bralettes that you definitely won’t be taking off and throwing across your room any time soon. These bralettes are reminiscent of a training bra and are so comfortable that it’s easy to forget that you’re wearing anything at all. Plus, the brands bralettes are made to form to the natural shape of your body while providing ideal coverage and keeping you comfortable all day. Seriously, what more could you ask for?
SKIMS is setting new standards by providing solutions for every body. From technically constructed shapewear that enhances your curves to bras that make you feel extra supported and comfortable. Its goal is to consistently innovate on the past and advance the industry for the future.

Doctors across the country are working day and night, risking their lives for those who are affected by COVID-19. But with the rapid spread of the coronavirus, the necessary supplies needed to protect healthcare workers are depleting quicker than they’re being replenished.
Canadian companies have stepped to the plate to do good for their communities during these uncertain times, and another one that is playing its part in stopping the spread of the disease is the intimates brand Knix.
After speaking with her brother who’s a doctor in Hamilton, Knix Founder & CEO Joanna Griffiths began a GoFundMe campaign to start raising funds for N95 masks, surgical masks, and gloves, which the company is able to access through the vendors they work with.
The campaign, which launched on March 21, has already received an overwhelming response.

With an original goal to raise $50,000, the campaign surpassed the goal within the first 48 hours. To date, the fund has been put towards 100 units of medical gear and the first donation shipment was sent to an organization in Alberta.
“It is a crucial time for our community to come together for the common good. After understanding the severity of the issue, we immediately contacted our suppliers to see if they could help and the answer was YES.”
Joanna Griffiths, Founder & CEO of Knix
Through the GoFundMe campaign, organizations are able to fill out a PPE Request Form for the supplies they need most. Knix plans to continue funnelling supplies to hospitals, clinics, and non-profits across the country for as long as necessary.
“Our aim is to help bridge inventory gaps while larger government programs are put in place. The feedback for this campaign has truly been overwhelming and goes beyond a monetary value. Canadians are rallying together to support our nation’s selfless frontline workers,” Griffiths said.

It was another tough year for fashion retailers; Forever 21 went bankrupt, closing 44 stores in Canada just last month, and following in the footsteps of retailers like Payless and Topshop. Still, many Canadian retailers dared to expand their direct-to-consumer footprints in 2019 with the launch or their own storefronts or via strong retail collaborations.

Canadian intimates brand Knix kicked off its retail debut this year with the opening of its first standalone stores. The brand opened a storefront in Vancouver and inaugurated a flagship retail store in Toronto on Queen West. The brand, which had its start in 2013, equally launched a nationwide partnership with Nordstrom in 2019, rounding out a very busy retail year.

It was especially exciting to see independent Montreal-based designer Marilyne Baril break into retail this year with a brand new space for her brand Marigold. She opened a storefront in the Montreal borough of Verdun for her made-in-Montreal line that encourages ‘Slow Fashion’. The store’s interior is characterized by orange accents housing the womenswear designer’s latest creations.

Canadian indie label Okayok inaugurated its first permanent retail location in its hometown of Toronto in 2019. The boutique houses the brand’s playful contemporary loungewear, as well as the company’s new commercial studio space. The brand, founded in 2017 by designer and entrepreneur Adrienne Butikofer, is well-known for its niche, and sometimes cheeky designs.

Following a successful pilot pop-up project last year, Manitobah Mukluks expanded its number of retail locations this year to 18 stores in several major cities. The brand, which specializes in indigenous modern footwear, opened the pop-up experiences temporarily this year. The brand opened stores in several locations across the country including Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, and the Toronto area.

Cruelty-free Canadian outerwear brand Wuxly Movement opened its first storefront in 2019, in Toronto, in a retail space shared with fellow local brand Vitaly. The brand, co-founded by former Canadian pro-football player, James Yurichuk, and master-tailor, Anthony DeBartolo in 2012, offers a range of parkas, bombers, jackets, hats, and vests that promise to be sourced ethically.

Toronto-based tattoo startup Inkbox opened its first permanent retail space on Queen Street West this year. The temporary tattoo brand has experimented with a number of pop-ups since first launching in 2015. The new location offers tattoo designs and a retail space housing the company’s temporary designs. Inkbox also launched an area for permanent tattoos, dubbed Inside Out.

After 5 years online, Province of Canada announced the official opening of its first brick and mortar store in Leslieville, Toronto, in 2019. The new digs at 1004 Queen Street East houses the brand’s well-made basics collection of made in Canada pieces, as well as accessories like toques, totes, and candles.

This year, Toronto-based fashion brand Ellie Mae Studios teamed up with decor brand COFO, to open a retail space at Toronto’s shipping container market, Stackt. The new space is filled with Ellie Mae’s womenswear collection, as well as the two brands’ chic cannabis accessories, and COFO’s modern and streamlined furniture.

Six years after launching her eponymous label, Vancouver-based jewellery designer Melanie Auld opened a brick-and-mortar store during the summer of 2019. The 805-square-foot flagship, characterized by pink and green decor, carries Auld’s full range of west coast-inspired bling. Beyond the brand’s jewellery collection, the store also houses an in-house collection of Murano-glass vessels and white ceramics.

Montreal-based designer Habi Gerba opened her first storefront for her high-end clothing line designed for the modern working woman this year. Customers are invited to make an appointment at the boutique located in Montreal at 3859 Saint-Denis for a personalized shopping experience, where they can choose between custom-made or ready-to-wear clothing options by Gazelles.

When I first discovered Knix way back in 2013, it was just a Kickstarter campaign being shared by some pals. A lot has changed in 6 years for the Toronto-based brand, and its founder and CEO Joanna Griffiths. Not only has the company grown considerably expanding from its original Knix product — the 8-in-1 Evolution bra, a hybrid every day/active bra — but it has since launched a teen line, swimwear and now, a permanent retail store on Queen Street West.
For those who have ever been hesitant to order online, or perhaps never been able to make it to a Knix pop-up shop, this space offers a warm, welcoming and inclusive shopping experience for people of all shapes, sizes, and ages.

Already a big fan of Knix, I was excited to go into the store and check out some of the new products that Knix was offering now that the brand has a physical location.
The store is a pastel dream, and on the racks and just about everything you would find on the website: bras, sport bras, loungewear and more. I decided to get my hands on some new-to-me items and head into the dressing room, where I was paired up with my own personal fitter named Hilary. The change rooms were super cozy and didn’t feel claustrophobic like most change rooms. Bonus: they had the perfect mirror with good lighting for selfies.

Both of these items were new to me, and I thought it would be great to try them on. The lounge pants were super soft, and dreamy. They felt like a hybrid between sweat pants and yoga pants, and quite frankly the best thing I had ever tried on. The Evolution Tank was a bit of a different feeling, however. Since it has a bra built-in, it was a bit snug to put on. Hilary explained that this was normal, but to be honest, it was not the most comfortable feeling. I didn’t want to risk keeping the tank and attempting to “break” it in. It did, however, the tank did provide great support. So if you do feel comfortable with this, I would recommend. I tried on the XXL (which fits a 40DD) and it was totally fine!

For December, the brand released some brand new colours and prints in their classic bras. I have always been a huge fan of the Evolution Bra, so I decided to try it on in the plum velvet colour, to see what it was like. I tried on the 8+ with an extended (my normal bra size is 40DD) and the bra fit, however, I did notice some issues. For starters, I seemed to be rock a little bit too much sideboob (as pictured) and the bottom of the bra kept rolling up. According to the Knix blog, this means I should go up a size, but unfortunately this is the biggest size. However, when I tried on the Padded V-Neck, there was very minimal cup spillage and no band rolling up. To be quite honest, the bra fit so comfortably and I really loved it. I would totally buy it.

This bra is quite similar to the Evolution Bra is style and shape, but it is longer and therefore it doesn’t have any of the rolling up issues I was having before. Although it’s touted as a sports bra, I felt as if I could wear this as a normal everyday bra.

It is so difficult to find cute pajamas, so when I found this set in the Knix store, I instantly fell in love. I decided to try on the XXL, as I typically take an 18/20 in most clothes. I wanted to have an oversized look and feel to the set (if possible) and when I tried on the set, it fit and it was cute. But it definitely did not have the oversize look I was hoping to achieve. There was even room in the sleep set (with elastic in the waist), so I had room to move. It was also made from a soft fabric, that I couldn’t stop touching. I really wish it was a bit bigger.

There were a couple items I could not fit into at all while I was at Knix, and that was a shame. I know that as a plus-size individual (18/20 waist and a 40DDD bra size), I’m on the smaller end of plus.
I believe that Knix has been committed to working within the community to fitting individuals and trying to work on expanding their range. Hell, I do really love the line and I did walk out of the store with a few pieces, but I know for people (like me) coming into a physical location will be CRUCIAL because sometimes gambling on bras is no fun.
Get yourself down to a Knix, and see what works for you. Spent about an hour, and work with your personal fitter to find what’s right for you and your body type.
