As we previously reported, Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack will be closing every location in Canada by the end of this summer.
This news has been devastating for Nordstrom lovers, however, if there’s one silver lining, it’s the impending liquidation sale.
Nordstrom has announced that its liquidation sale is set to begin this month, towards the end of March! Although, this is still pending court approval.
Nordstrom is known for carrying high-end names in clothing, accessories, beauty, and more. So naturally, the liquidation sale is highly anticipated ever since the closure was announced!
Customers are eager to find deals they likely otherwise wouldn’t be able to find on designer and high-end pieces.
We’ll have to sit tight as we wait for the in-store sales, as nordstrom.ca has already been shut down.
It seems that we have just a little more time to save up before the Nordstrom Liquidation Sale commences!

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has now arrived! It’s one of our fave sales of the year so we couldn’t be more excited—get ready to shop ‘til you drop
We got to take a look at the early access event on July 14 so we can let you know what you’ll be able to expect before you head out.
From beauty to purses, to sneakers, and more—it’s Nordstroms biggest shopping event—you’ll definitely be able to snag some brag-worthy deals.
The women’s clothing section had the most selection, so we ended up spending most of our time browsing the racks there. Aside from everyday apparel, there’s also activewear, sleepwear, and intimates. You’ll also find staple sneakers and statement heels which are perfect for the summertime. The men’s section had a ton of super chic button-ups and casual items as well as an array of dress shoes to choose from. We also can’t forget about the kid’s section which had a variety of basics and super adorable pieces.
The beauty section had a handful of makeup kits and perfumes from brand names like Charlotte Tilbury, Dior, Nars, and Le Labo. We actually preferred that most of this section had bundled kits, that way you can try a couple of products at a time, for an awesome price.
We totally think it’s worth it to take a peak at least—a little browse never hurt anybody. It’s a great way to stock up on wardrobe essentials or items you’ve been eyeing while saving some cash along the way.

Have you been missing Topshop lately? Well, we have some good news. According to Retail Insider, the British retailer is headed back into Canada.
Last year, we saw Topshop exit from all Hudson’s Bay stores, after first opening in 2011.
Ever since then, if Canadians wanted to purchase trendy clothing from the brand, they had to do so through ASOS, which unfortunately has duties.
Now, Topshop is re-entering, but with the help of another major retailer—Nordstrom.
All of Nordstrom’s stores in Canada will offer both Topshop and Topman fashion, as well as on Nordstrom.ca.
You’ll be able to browse the brand in-person and on Nordstrom.ca starting April 1, plus you won’t have to pay any extra shipping duties anymore!
Retail Insider also states that allegedly Hudson’s Bay and ASOS were unable to come to an agreement to continue carrying Topshop in Canada, so ASOS turned to Nordstrom. Since losing this, Hudson’s Bay partnered with YM Inc. to have Forever 21 as part of their offering.
It’ll definitely be interesting to see how well the brand does in another department store that competes with its former home, Hudson’s Bay.

Nordstrom Canada has taken a stance against animal fur and exotic skins. The company announced this week that it will no longer sell fur and exotic skins in stores and online. It’s a much-anticipated step for animal activists all over the world who have long been pushing major retailers to stop supporting the fur industry.
Although the materials or brands won’t be fully phased out until the end of 2021, this is most definitely a huge step in the right direction in creating sustainable practices in the fashion industry.
Teri Bariquit, who is the Nordstrom’s chief merchandising officer, made it official in a statement saying, “As part of our ongoing product evolution, we’ve been working with the Humane Society of the United States and recently made the decision to stop offering products made with genuine fur or exotic animal skin in any of our stores or online.”
With that being said, Nordstrom still stated that it’ll be continuing the sale of goods manufactured from byproducts of the meat industry, as well as feathers and down, but these products will not be sourced from live plucking.
More and more consumers are reaching for brands that involve sustainable practices and materials, so hopefully more Companies Get on board And make a change.

Nordstrom has begun prepping for the opening of their third Toronto store, located at CF Sherway Gardens. Scheduled to open to the public on Friday, September 15, we have no doubt that the people will come in hoards. Though the department store will definitely not be short-staffed as they plan to hire about 400 people.
Positions will be posted on Monday, May 15, on the companies career page with sales positions available in all departments including footwear, accessories, beauty, and women, men, and children’s apparel – no prior retail experience is required.
Nordstrom will also be hiring for various support positions in alterations, building services, housekeeping, loss prevention as well as at its new restaurant, Bazille, and coffee bar, ‘eBar’.
If you’re looking for a position in retail we definitely suggest applying. Working for a large company definitely has its perks, i.e. competitive benefits package including a 20% retail discount (managers receive a 33% discount), dental, medical and vision options, and an RRSP matching program.
