Sadly, one of our favourite high-end stores on Ossington in Toronto is leaving us for the West Coast. Jonathan + Olivia will soon be relocating to Whistler, B.C. after a strong 10 years of serving up bold, minimalist clothes in an incredible space at 49 Ossington Avenue.
“Owners Jackie O’Brien Jones and Nic Jones announced the news on Monday afternoon, writing that they would be making the move next month ahead of their new west coast store’s September opening.”
The Jonathan+Olivia flagship store will be located in the heart of Whistler Village. In addition, J+O are opening a luxury store next door, with ready-to-wear handbags, footwear and lifestyle objects. As far as Toronto, “we may not be here in bricks and mortar, but we will always be here for you online and will continue to explore new ways to serve and support our East Coast clientele through e-commerce and virtual shopping.” The launch starts at the beginning of September with their new fall collections and the J+O online shop fully stocked.
“As some of you may or may not know, Jackie O’Brien Jones first opened Jonathan+Olivia in Vancouver back in 2005 with the Toronto store opening in 2008,” reads the announcement.
The Jonathan+Olivia Archives sale will take place in Toronto on July 3 and 4, while the entire store will be on sale until it officially closes at 49 Ossington on July 5. All Toronto credits will be honoured online and at J+O Whistler locations.
