What if we told you there was a way to get rewarded for something that you do every month? What if we told you that on top of getting rewarded, you can have an easy to use app that turns a monotonous monthly chore into a simple process?
Well, we have just been introduced to an app that not only makes your life simpler but rewards you as well and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you.
Paying bills is something that we all have to do. We know it sucks, but it’s part of being an adult and it’s just one of those things that if you don’t stay on top of, can cause you major issues down the road.
In this day and age with online payments, you often have to remember multiple passwords, multiple login names and then on top of that, you have to remember to log in and use your passwords on multiple different sites every month. It’s a hassle, to say the least.
This is where the Paytm Canada app comes into play. They are a Canadian based tech company that makes your life easier by consolidating all your bills into one easy to use app. For every transaction that you make using the App, you will collect Paytm points which you can redeem for an e-gift card from popular brands.
The app is so easy to use it only has three steps:
With a simple process and access to rewards, Paytm is one of the best concepts for a reward app we’ve seen as of late. We love providing our readers with information on access to deals, but when you pair that with an actual useful solution it’s a major win!
Naqiyah Rampuri, Director, Growth Strategy from Paytm Canada puts it best, “It really is that simple, we all have bills to pay. Unfortunately, with our busy lives, nobody has time anymore. We are spreading ourselves thin in terms of financial spending, trying to save time and budgeting. With the Paytm app you, can centralize all your bill payments, and at the end of the day, you are getting rewarded for something that you have to do anyway. When you have access to everything at your fingertips, the App gives you the freedom to continue living your life the way you want. You need your cell phone, you love going to restaurants and paying using your credit card. Now you can come in and pay those bills, save money and time so that you can use the rewards for the lifestyle you want to live.”
From our perspective, it’s almost a no-brainer. The app makes your life easier by making your bill payments centralized (no more going to 5 different websites to pay 5 different bills) and then helps you save money at your favourite retailers by giving you 1 point for every $1 that you spend in the App. They do have points limits on specific bills, you can read more about it here.
Redeeming the points can get you discounted or free e-gift cards. Without overselling, it’s a pretty straightforward pitch. With Paytm currently offering new customers 10,000 Welcome Points upon sign up, (that’s a $10 value) there really is no better time to give the app a try. You have to pay your bills, and this process is tedious so if you have to do it, why not do it in a way that’s easier and gives you real-life discounts and rewards.
Home assistant devices really took off in 2017. With Google and Amazon going head to head, everyone was wondering when Apple would officially enter the ring with their own version dubbed the HomePod.
According to Bloomberg, since it’s release, the sales of the HomePod have been lacklustre at best. The HomePod has just reached the sales levels industry experts and Apple predicted. Reportedly some Apple stores have been selling as little as 10 devices a day.
Not only is Apple’s HomePod not doing that great, neither is Google Home. According to Bloomberg in the first 10 weeks of the Apple HomePod on the market, it earned just 10% of the home smart speaker market, where Amazon’s Echo secures 73% of the market, and Google Home only holds a 14% market share.
The reason’s for Apple HomePod’s poor performance is pretty obvious. At the end of the day, it has the least amount of features compared to Amazon and Google’s products and it’s by far the most expensive. Furthermore, the Apple device only works with Apple-approved apps making it even less attractive.

The debate on the viability of social media influencers continues to rage on. Many believe they are an integral part of the growth of new brands and products in today’s social media-heavy economy. While others point to the fact that it’s hard to gauge actual ROI from social media influencers, and their following is sometimes inauthentic.
While there is no doubt that having a bunch of cool people promote your product is beneficial, a new report from Launchmetrics reveals that “mega” influencers – denoted by having a following between 501,000 and 1.5 million – are becoming less valuable and important to brands.
The good news is that if you have a following under 500,000 (if you have more and you’re reading this let us know lol) you are now the most targets market of influencers for advertisers. Known as micro-influencers (10,000 – 100,000 followers) are now the most coveted influencer group to advertisers.
Companies are now looking for real-time engagement rather than massive followings. The ability to have a smaller but targeted voice is what advertisers are now looking for. According to Launchmetrics, advertisers want quality content and engagement and prefer this over working with someone with a massive following.
We figure the reason is simple and probably has to do more with money and ROI. Booking a campaign with a “mega” influencer can be astronomically expensive. According to a 2018 complex article, many of the mega influencers have yearly incomes in excess of $10 million and often charge anywhere from $150,000 to $300,000 for a single post. If you are an advertiser shelling out $300,000 for one Instagram post you better be sure that you can show the benefits, and lately, this industry hasn’t been able to effectively do this.

Yesterday, eBay Canada launched Under $10, which is a new, on-site destination offering millions of brand new items for $10 and under, all with free shipping, no bidding required. Sorry, what? It sounds too good to be true.

The holidays are officially over which means it’s okay to return some of your gifts and get something you really want. We all love cool tech products and some of the best gadgets on the market don’t simply entertain but can enrich your life as well. If you didn’t get exactly what you wanted for the holidays or you are looking for somewhere to spend grandma’s Christmas gift money, may we suggest some of the most useful and fun technology on the market right now?
Google Home and the Amazon Echo were some of the best selling home tech devices of 2017. Home assistants will continue to strive in popularity as their prices come down and third-party companies create products to be used in conjunction with Google Home and Amazon Echo.
According to Google, Canadians are searching for dash cams at a fairly high volume. Dash cam purchases are expected to rise significantly in 2018. While Google will tell you that products are trending, it doesn’t give that much insight into why Canadians are looking to add dashcams to their vehicles in 2018. Whether it’s to catch the next wild viral video in downtown Toronto or to protect yourself in case of an accident or crime, dash cams can be very useful.
Personalized home security products were searched for at a high level by Canadians in 2017 and are predicted to trend upwards in 2018. Wifi enabled cameras that connect to your phone, digital door openers and doorbells were popular in 2017 and we think will continue to be big sellers in 2018.
With sleep being a consistent sore point for many Canadians, consumers are starting to realize that having their cell phones next to them in bed causes sleep issues. Experts suggest going old-school and reverting back to a standard alarm clock. Lucky for you, alarm clocks have never been designed better. Wood grain and minimalist design cues make these new alarm clocks are a must have.
Whether you want immersive sound for gaming on your laptop, or watching Netflix on your TV soundbars make a great addition to any entertainment system.
When the Roomba first came it out, it was kind of gimmicky and very expensive. Now Roomba are some of the best robotic vacuums on the market and its competitors are almost just as good. If you don’t want to shell out $600+ on a Roomba, you can find comparative robotic vacuums that get the job done just as well and looks good to boot.
Have cords been holding you back your entire life? The hottest trend in headphones is wireless earbuds. Wireless earbuds give you the freedom to be cordless which is a major plus especially if you own the iPhone X. While Air Pods are very expensive their are several cheaper options that get the job done.

The CBC Reports that there has been a significant delay in its arrival, but Tim Hortons is finally ready to unveil its new mobile app that will allow customers to order Tim Hortons’ favourites from their phone before arriving at the restaurant.
The new app will be available for customers to use sometime this summer, and while not all Tim Hortons locations will adopt the app in the beginning, most locations will be ready to go.
The app supposedly is easy to use. From what we’ve seen, if you’ve ever been to a McDonald’s and used the new touch screen terminals, the app will be similar. Pictures of food items will be shown in an easy to use format so customers can order quickly and pick up products as they arrive.
One thought comes to mind is that some Tim Hortons will have to change their design or hire expediting staff to fulfil the orders. The biggest fear Tim Hortons has is that they will not be able to handle a surge in orders if the app is very popular.
