Toronto-based brand Ahiri just opened its first-ever flagship location right on Queen West in Toronto – and there’s a twist!
“This is a huge moment for Ahiri and our team couldn’t be more excited to offer a fresh retail experience. Ahiri is all about timeless designer fashion and now our customers can get a behind-the-scenes look at our creative process and give their own input. The relationship with our customers will become more intimate, as they will now be reflected in our upcoming collections in a deeper way,” says Michael Jafine, head of design, Ahiri.
“Co-locating our retail, designer studio, office, and warehouse will save time, resources, and allow Ahiri to streamline its operations. Our customers can see what Michael is working on, give their feedback and be a meaningful part of Ahiri’s ecosystem. They will get a behind-the-scenes look at the design process, including mood boards, fabric swatches and other in-studio accoutrements,” says Sheetu Latif, CEO and co-founder, Ahiri.
Visit its new flagship (and studio) location at 797 Queen Street West.

Popular, luxury fragrance brand, Le Labo, has opened a new flagship storefront in Toronto’s Bloor-Yorkville area, Retail Insider reports. This is the brand’s third location in Canada!
Prices for these niche fragrances and products range between $100 to over $500, some even costing over $1000. It’s safe to say Le Labo is definitely in the luxury category of fragrances.
The flagship store has a rustic, historic lab-like feel to it, with distressed features throughout, including its walls and flooring. Located at 15 Hazelton Avenue, the location aligns with Le Labo’s various storefronts, as the brand is known to favour popular, trendy locations over being placed in a mall.
Le Labo treats fragrance like a craft – “A journey through the commune of craftswomen and craftsmen who contribute to and shape le labo’s world… from the wood maker to the metal worker to the candle pourer to the lab technician to the rose picker to the illustrator… and oh yes, to the perfumer too !”. As stated on lelabofragrances.ca.

The day has finally come! Downtown Toronto is getting its very first IKEA location. That’s right, now you don’t have to travel outside the city to browse affordable furniture and snack on Swedish meatballs.
The Aura location will actually be the very first of its kind across the country. In a small store format, it’ll offer the classic IKEA experience we all know and love plus innovative ways to shop and a new food concept.
IKEA Canada CEO and Chief Sustainability Officer, Michael Ward, spoke about the news in a release, “Opening our first store in the heart of Toronto’s vibrant downtown core is an important milestone in our retail transformation to bring IKEA closer to where customers live, work, shop and socialize.”
There will be over 2,000 products that will be available for immediate takeaway, while the larger pieces of furniture will be on display and available for home delivery. It also has the option to purchase your items from the IKEA app if you choose to do so or visit one of the multiple checkout lanes on both levels.
Now for the part you’ve been waiting for. The new food concept that’ll be implemented is called the Swedish Deli where you’ll find healthy meals and specialty beverages to enjoy while dining in, as well as recipes and food options to take out.

Obsessed with Alo Yoga? Well, you’re in luck! Apparently, the yoga wear brand will open a store in Toronto.
The new flagship location may sound familiar since it was actually once home to the Gap flagship, which unfortunately closed down in early 2021.
Although Canadians haven’t had the chance to shop at an actual Alo Yoga store just yet, the athleticwear label is available for purchase at its own site, Hudson’s Bay, Sport Chek, and Nordstrom.
If this flagship is a success in Toronto, there’s a very good chance that the brand will open up even more locations across Canada. Fingers crossed!
An opening date has yet to be revealed, so stay tuned for more info.
