The CBC is reporting that Loblaw Companies LTD has just announced that it will be merging two of the most popular rewards programs in Canada together.  The new rewards loyalty program will be called PC Optimum and it will be a fusion of Shoppers Drug Mart’s Optimum loyalty rewards program and PC Plus Points.

According to the CBC, starting February 1st, 2018 anyone who is either a member of PC Plus Points or Shoppers Optimum will be grouped into the new points program with account balances transferred over at par.

Industry insiders point out that the merger of the two loyalty programs has been expected ever since Loblaw LTD announced the acquisition of Shoppers Drug Mart.

As far as where you can use the card goes,  all points will accrue and can be sent at all of Loblaw LTD affiliated retail brands including:

  • Zehrs.
  • Loblaws.
  • Shoppers Drug Mart.
  • Shoppers Home Health Care.
  • online at JoeFresh.com and BeautyBoutique.ca.
  • Real Canadian Superstore.
  • Atlantic Superstore.
  • City Market.
  • No Frills.
  • Independent.

Again, according to the CBC while all the points will be moved over at par it will eb easier to accrue point if you shop at Shoppers Drug Mart
